Resolved companions are never seen before

It seems that if the wanderer is in a city that I never visit before there location shown as unknown

for me in turkish i cant see a single NPC location but when i switch to english it appears.

I am having the same experience.

I thought this was deliberate and I didn't realize it was a bug. If this is a bug I hope they fix it, because it makes finding companions much more difficult.
