Can't assign a new Marshall in my Kingdom

Hello, I've been playing Mount & Blade like crazy for the past 2 days and I've made it to a point where I made my own kingdom and I own a few villages. When I try to assign a new Marshall (someone other than myself) I get the dialog screen fine, however there a no options to select. So I'm pretty much stuck in the window. I'm running the lastest version of the game  too. At first I thought it would be somewhat fixed once I get vessals but even with 3 vessals I still get no options in the dialog screen.

Gday! I've just encountered a similar problem which has pretty much ended my game, due to frustration.
I had my own kingdom, 4 vassals. I made bunduk the marshall for a little while, then **** hit the fan, and I removed him of his priviledge. When I went back to choose myself to become marshall.... There was no option, and I cannot elect another vassal to become one.
So basically, my guys are running around my kingdom getting mobbed and smashed by Swadia and I cannot command them...
