Cancel mercenary contract?

I have a mercenary contract with the Nords in my game and the Viegars just captured a Nord castle and left 15 troops to guard it. I can take it easily with my army, but since I am contracted to the Nords, I am not allowed to keep the castle for myself. Is there a way to cancel my contract so I may keep the castle for myself?

Ok, first of all, you should not give yourself as a mercenary or make yourself a lord in this mod, its focused on your own kingdom. And to answer your question, no, you cannot cancel the contract until it expires at the date the lord has set. I think it is three months.

Ask to become a vassal.  Then, once you are a vassal, quit.

This cancels the merc contract.

Mercenary contract is supported in SoD (no particular bug) but work like in native (no way to end the contract before expiration, except by becoming vassal ; and if you become vassal and don't renounce your oath fast there are some bugs as fief management, advisors etc... will consider you king).
