Summary: can’t log into multiplayer at all never had a problem before and now I haven’t been able to play in 4 days and I only bought it for multiplayer and now that $40 seems to be wasted on a game that doesn’t work ….

We don't have servers for the beta version. It is normal for you to not be able to log in on 1.8.0.
