Biography :

Richard was born in a hard time where the kingdom of Swadia was at war against the Sarranids. His father had to leave his family to help the Swadians at the war and died.

The guards where rude against the people living there, forced to pay high taxes and took most of their food. One day Richard decided that something needs to be changed and so he took the sword of his father. He used it to defend the poor villagers who had nothing left anymore to pay the taxes. But since the villagers had not weapons, he was easily outnumbered. He needed to be careful that the guards do not spot him.

He went back to his mother and has sworn that he will come back, and then liberate the people. Since he left the City, he is now gathering an army to lead an assault against the kingdom of Swadia.

The Vagrant

The Vagrant never stops. From whence he came or where he is headed, no-one knows. The Khergits bring tales from their homeland of a restless spirit cursed by the Gods to forever roam the lands on foot, shunned by all horses. Nords speak of the ever-walker, without whom the world would cease spinning. Whatever the truth, the Vagrant inexorably draws challengers, opportunists and followers; Khergit shamans, Swadian Knight-Errants, Rhodok scholars, Vaegir adventurers. There are those who choose to follow him, aware that whilst they still live, they will forever be peregrinating throughout the realm, never to sleep in the same place two nights in a row, never to know of armistice or reconciliation. Then there are those who strive to stop him through force of arms. But the Vagrant never stops.

Concept:

Foot skirmisher, designed to be fast and lethal, but forced to end fights quickly and dirtily due to lack of heavy armor. Since the back is already occupied by the Jarids, the Voulge can be left out, but that would force players to use only the spear which might be a bit hard for some. Skills/weapon skills etc. can of course be changed freely (figured this was more of a bio competition than a 'design a character' competition anyway), as well as the level (more hardcore? Less hardcore?) :smile: As to what the Vagrant is... :razz: That's up to you to decide!

Name : Teraki Mirendill
Allegiance : Mercenary and previous Swadian Vassal, she holds a grudge against Swadia

Young as Teraki Might look like a young woman, but she has seen much injustice and cruelty. In the age of 16 she were forced into a political marriage with a Swadian Lord who mistreated the people of his lands, setting the taxes so high that the commoners could barely afford to feed their kids and even less so themselves. ruling them through fear and violence and as a husband he was no kind man either, violent and cruel.
The Marriage lasted for little over a year before Teraki took the life of the Lord in his sleep and ran away into the steppes hunted by King Harlaus and the rest of the Kingdom of Swadia for treason.

Teraki spent a couple of years in the steppes as a Steppe bandit, raiding Swadian Weapon Transport Caravans that had stocked up in Halmar to take it back to Praven, though she now believed it to be time to face Swadia once more and make them see the injustice happening in their lands.
During her stay in the Steppes her style of combat were changed alot cause of her adapting to the life on the steppes in addition to her view on people changed drastically aswell.
She is using a combination of equipment that she specifically put together for little movement impairing but still good protection, she believes in speed and clean strikes over standing fighting with an opponent for longer periods of time.

Bio:
Jahid Blackhead. The poorly known bastard son of Emir Dhasval, Better known as the Southern Bandit chieftain.  At early age he was found by a group of villagers near Ayn Assuadi. The village smith adopted him, and rised to be his aprentice. Jahid was happy to his hard-working life at the town, 'till large force of desert bandits looted the town, and took young boys, to train them as new bandit recruits. Jahid was taught to ambush caravans and all the things needed to be a proper Thief. Jahid's big size also helped him alot in battles ahead. Now he robs caravans at mountains and Deserts between lands of Khergit and Sarranid Sultanate.

Eldric the Jinxed
Eldric was born in a simple Nordic family. He lived a normal life until he was 13. After his 13th birthday strange accidents started happening to people that were close to him. First his older sister died in an ridding accident. Later on his brother was attacked and killed by looters. When he was 16 his father sent him to get the supplies from town and during the time he was in town, bandits raided his village and killed his family.

After all those accidents and loosing everyone he loved, he decided to join the army. After few month his party was ambushed and he was taken as a prisoner. Few weeks later the army that imprisoned him took some heavy casualties and he managed to escape and even steal some equipment to arm himself.

Ever since then he was traveling around Calradia alone calling himself jinxed...

Biography:

From common birth, Perceval once dreamed of being the finest noble in the Swadian army, and though countless challenges, he achieved the goal. However, he soon realized that being a noble was very different from what he thought in his childhood. As much as he tried to make the world what he once dreamed of, he couldn't. Eventually his honor lead to much fame, and soon his popularity passed the king. Shortly after he was ordered by the king to leave the Swadian land in eternity. He sought his skills in war to be used in opposing factions, raising support as a mercenary, hoping to finally be the one to stick the sword in Swadian king's heart. Unfortunately, the Swadian king passed away of old age, and his successor did not want Perceval to be forbidden in his land. Now he is a freelance mercenary, and for unknown reasons still participates in war.

Story: Edward Gilligan was born in Emirin. He lived in simple, as well as poor conditions, with his father being an unknown hunter and his mother being a common housewife. He spend most of his childhood learning the skills of hunting and mastering his skills with the bow in order to assist his father. Growing up into the adult life, he soon realised that being a simple hunter did not satisfy his need for thrill and adventure. Looking for fortune and prosperity, Edward left his home. Soon, after realising that gaining money isn't so easy afterall, he let himself get involved with bad people in his desperation. After a short, but succesfull detour to the life of a bandit, he realised that raiding caravans and robbing helpless people for a living might not be such a bad idea at all

He was born in Jelkala as a son of a Squire. His father Darran Arkan was killed during a raid into Swadian terretory. As he came of age he entered the army and during a battle with Lord Deru of Swadia, during wich Deru himself was killed, Jarvis was appointed a knight. He then went on a campaign against the Sarranids and was one of the few survivors that returned from the desert. He entered the service of Castle guard and five years he spent guarding the castle, untill he decided to answer the call to war once more. He joined the ongoing campaign and gained a reputation and soon enough he had a loyal army of his own. Soon enough he left the Kingdom of Rhodok to seek fortune. Now he serves as a mercenary for those with the money and the need, leading his band of soldiers to greater wealth.

Bio: Srenath's home is a Rhodok Village, where people are poor but happy. Srenath was never fine because he had no money, he always had his eyes on money and power, which grew stronger with days passing. He grew tired of this and gone mad, slew some Rhodok Army Sergeants and left the place without getting arrested, now he is a traitor and a "Noble" Swadian Lord who is skilled at using a crossbow and a heavy sword. Even though he has such power, it still isn't enough for him, he mercilessly destroys his enemy at combat, though at times his lust for power can blind him, causing his men to die. Even though he's bound to the Swadian King, his allies are the ones who help him to get power and money, his foes are the ones who try to stop him.

Bio: Zanath was a hunter living a nomad's life, finally arriving at Calradia. He started living among Khergits, but he was forced out due to stealing bread. Having no home, he joined a bandit party, he was liked by many of 'em in no time. In battle, their chief was killed, than Zanath volunteered to become their chief, getting people's support. A Bandit challenged Zanath to a duel, where the winner becomes the chief. Zanath won, though the other bandit, with his last breath, used his mace to hit Zanath's head as hard as he can. Now Zanath has no memory of his past, he thinks that he was always a bandit. They're now a small faction with a small village, trading and working as mercenaries, aiming to unite all bandits and become a true faction, he is ready to fight for his dream..!

Sir Alexander d'Avance

The third-born nobleman of the Avance family. His father a landed knight, little money was spare for a third-born, and so, upon his knighthood, he opted to become a mercenary.
After a bloody battle with the [insert any faction here], during which he had led a cavalry charge into the enemy ranks, his prowess was recognised by Baron [name], who took him as a vassal.
Now a vassal to a great Baron, Sir Alexander was placed in direct command of his lord's livery and levy, standing in defense of his lord's life and honour.

I've attempted to make this according to the period I re-enact in real life. He's based on a mid-late 13th century knight, is reasonably well off, but not rich, but fairly well renowned.

Key: A landed knight makes his living off of the land he owns through renting it out. A poor landed knight may be only slightly more well off than a rich peasant. A rich landed knight may be as well off as a poor household knight.
A household knight is a vassal to a baron. They own no land, but serve their baron. They are expected to do military service, or pay scrutage (a tax for not doing said service). They may be as poor as a rich landed knight, or as rich as a poor baron. They often had some small influence on politics.

Name: Argo Sendnar
Age: 50

Story: Argo Sendnar had quite a diversified life. When he arrived at Calradia, working as a trader, he hoped for more income than in Lokti*. Little did he know, that the wartorn Calradia was a wasps' nest for bandits and cutthroats that made trading a lot more complicated than in Lokti. Being bought out by another competeting trader, after losing all his goods and money due to caravan raids, he was forced to serve as a caravan guard to make a living. Despite his pathetic fighting skills, he soon found an employment on one of the more dangerous routes through Calradia. Due to sheer luck he managed to stay alive long enough to aquire enough combat experience and money to start his own buisness as a caravan master, offering his services to traders in need of defense for their goods.

Days passing with him defeating enemy lords and honorably letting them go, training his men more and getting rewards by his king, also building schools and workshops to his castle, he decides to visit his home and sees that a group of mercenaries has slew his siblings, older sister and younger brother. He is blinded with despair and anger, he learns from them that Sarranids have paid them to go and kill people in the Vaegir Lands. He tries to stay calm but his anger for the Sarranid Lords is strong. He shall find the Lord who paid the bandits and avenge his brother and sister...

Bio

Name: Eduardo de Casadilla
Age: 22

Story: Eduardo is a charismatic, competetive young man. He likes women and women like him, resulting in most thinking of him as a ladies' man. He enjoyed special attention at the king's court in Tibo, his father being close friends with the king and one of his best fighters. Due to this attention, he was allowed to join the royal training school for fighting. Being rather talented he quickly gained impressive skills with the sword.Yet, he prefered using his charm and clever mind to avoid confrontations and outsmart his opponents. All this was of no use when the queen fell for him and he was caught being intimate with her and had to escape his persecutors from the country. Eduardo and his bodyguards escaped to Calradia. He saw it in a positive way: New country, new glory and new women to conquer....

Background:

        In the middle of the night from the rooftops, he checked the street again. His target could arrive any time. Soon, a man in expensive clothes turned the street corner. It’s the time, the assasin said to himself. Aimed slightly, and shot him with no hesitation. The guards were shocked when they see the guildmaster of Suno lying on the ground, with a bolt on his eye. They looked up, at the rooftops, however they only see the darkness. Anselmo was gone already...

Bio:
        He was gifted for using crossbows. When Rhodok sergeants realized his amazing skills in his military education, they decided to use his talent for something different. They trained him as an assasin, teached him how to fight, how to aim lethal points, how to keep his hands stable and of course, how to escape.
By the time, he became a legend between Rhodok privates. He probably shot tens of lords and hundreds of enemy soldiers in battles. Even his name puts fear in enemy lords’ heart and make them check their back.

When war broke out between the Swadians and the Vaegirs , both Entray and his father were drafted. Entray's father was one of the first men to desert. He told you that "War is a sad thing, and I don't want to fight one that is not my own." But as a young adult with a lust for battle, you didn't take those words to heart. You quickly advanced through the ranks in the Swadian army and end up as the leader of a Swadian raiding party. You raid often and start to tire from your work. You want something new. Something exciting. You take your thoughts to you men, and they tell you that they also want something new. So you decide to go Rogue. You wander around, protecting both Swadian and Vaegir villages alike, tired of seeing the women and children mercilessly slain. Then you come across a Rhodok war party. Not knowing that they had become hostile with Swadia, they surprise you by engaging in combat...

Born in the small Nordic village of Haen and conscripted into service at the age of fourteen, Godwine lives a hard life. While escorting a caravan from Tihr, Sea Raiders ambushed the column and only a handful of the caravan guards survived the night. Crawling on his hands and knees, Godwine escaped in the darkness, and upon recovery he took up adventuring on his own, scrounging up any volunteers he could find. At first he hunted brigands, collecting bounties to pay his men and keep food in their bellies. By clearing the countryside of bandits, he caught the eye of the nobility. He is a rough man, leading not with a word but with a sword: men only follow him because of his strength of arms and their share of the loot. Still, the nobility recognizes him as a capable captain and he has been offered title and land from several kingdoms.
