And they captured Den Breille to plunder, not to capture it for Willem of Orange or to defeat the Spanish. There was 1 commander who I believe that wanted to wait for him to hand him the city.

What the .. watergeuzen were the guys who defeated us, right?
Eh, no? Watergeuzen were those that followed the original Gueux (the ones that presented the Smeekschrift) and fled to the waters when Margaretha of Parma took control more tightly, because she didn't want Alva to take over. They began pirating Spanish and pro-spanish (or rather, Habsburg) vessels and sold the goods in British ports.
When eventually the British queen of that time decided the watergeuzen were no longer welcome in her ports because she wanted to improve her relationship with Filips II they Geuzen ran out of supplies. In desperation, they raided den Briel for food, but they more or less accidently took complete control of it with support of the citizenry. They then decided to give it to William (of Orange). And that's kinda the starting point where Spain started losing control.

Willem Bloys van Treslong, that's the commander who you are talking about
He was an officer of the navy, under command of Lumey(he convinced him)

They just plundered as ordinary bandits, yes, they rebelled against the Spanish, but they still were bandits because of robbing the citizens of the low-lands who did not supported the Spanish. So that is why they are bandits.
It depends which period you are talking about. Yes they were ordinary bandits BEFORE the 80Y-War.
But later on ALL enemies of the Spanish Filips II, mostly nobility, were called so.
And after that ALL fighters on sea or on land were called Geuzen(Beggars)
