I like that any animal can be slaughtered for meat, but I think it would be a nice touch that whenever an animal was slaughtered they also produced hides for tade. Just another small touch to make this game great.
 
Yes this can be good. Actually in future probably this will be added. However currently we have a problem. Hog / sheep / cow prices are not well balanced changes too much and in some towns you can find these animals so cheap. Of course this is a bit related to caravans not carrying livestock animals bug. It will be more balanced after hotfix. However even this is fixed you can find hogs which are 10-20 gold or sheeps 20-30 gold. When you slaughtered a hog currently you get 1 meat and in some cases this meat is more expensive than hog. Then you make a direct profit. If we add also hides over meat player's direct profit will be more, if we increase price of hog other mechanics will be damaged.

Actually player should be able to slaughter 1 animal per 10 people in his party daily or some other limitation. If there is that kind of limitation then as output we can give also hides. I was already thinking about this feature (adding hides as output).

Tradegoods are tradegoods. They are implemented as tradegoods - the production chains are not there. This might be a fine simplification, unless we want to broaden the game inte production :smile:

The butcher does not produce a sellable hide. That´s done at a leather or skinner workshop.
If you offered a cow-hide directy from the butcher to the merchants in town they'd call the guards as you stink!

A leather worker on the other hand can charge you to turn it into a sellable hide or buy it from you for a very small sum. Same is true with so many other trade goods. They are rarely raw material but already prepered/ crafted by professionals.

Rawmaterials could be introduced with town interaction that allow you to upgrade it to tradegoods. These interactions could be made very intresting and profitable.

At market these materials are worth close to nothing. Nothing you can live on :smile: A few coins at best!
