The rank system is composed of several rank groups.
Rank group 1: The “Ranker” rank group.
Rank group 2: The “Sergeant” rank group.
Rank group 3: The “Captain” rank group.
Rank group 4: The “Napoleon” rank group.
Every rank group has its own duties and tasks within IFA.
Rank group 1
- Cadet/Recruit [Cdt/Rct]
Your recruitment application has been approved. You are now on trial, not a full member yet. It is up for your regiment commander to decide if you will be promoted to a member of the regiment. This is a very crucial moment; do well so you get promoted.
- Soldat/Guard/Hussar/Cavalier [So/Grd/Hsr/Cvl]
Congratulations on your promotion. With this rank you are a fulltime member of your regiment and IFA. Your duties regarding this rank are simple, yet hard. You are the backbone of IFA, you are the weapon of IFA. Make us proud soldier!
- Caporal [Cpl]
Caporals usually are experienced, skilled soldiers. Usually, a caporals duties are the ones of a soldier.
- Caporal Fourrier [CplF]
Caporal Fourrier is the last rank in the first rank group. This rank is usually given to very experienced and skilled soldiers of IFA.
Rank group 2
- Sergent [Sgt]
The Sergeant is the first rank in the second rank group. The possibility for duties are huge. You might get asked to do the jobs of the higher ranked sergents at any time, but you do not have any specialized duty yet.
- Sergent Major [SgtMj]
A Sergent Major has the possibility for many duties, but this Sergent has one specialized job; Flag bearer.
- Adjudant [Adj]
The Adjudant has the possibility for many duties, but this Adjudant has one specialized job; Training.
- Adjudant Chef [AdjCf]
The Adjudant Chef has the possibility for many duties, but this Adudant Chef must be specialized within all the rank group duties.
Rank group 3
- Sous Lieutenant [SLt]
This is the first rank in the third rank group, also this is the first officer rank. This will be the first rank of a Second-in-Command of a regiment.
- Lieutenant [Lt]

This is the highest rank a Second-in-Command of a regiment can get.
- Chef de Bataillon [CdB]
This is the lowest rank a Regiment Commander can have.

This is the first rank for army commanders.
