The 15e Régiment d'Infantrie Légère is a flexible Light Infantry Voltigeur Company that is capable of performing both Line and Skirmisher tactics in battle. The 15e prides itself in it's versatility, excelling in both marksmanship and melee. Melee is truly a hallmark that we are proud of though, with many of our members being Groupfighting and NWEC Tournament winners, as well as having a large playerbase of prolific veterans from the old MM era. Furthermore, leadership is also an important part of our repetoire. We have a commited Officer staff that values a good knowledge of field tactics as much as pastoral support of our members through thorough training and not least the administration side of the regiment.
In the 15e we understand that games are played in order to have fun! As such when playing our primary goal is to have fun, accordingly we do not employ rules such as Permission-to-Speak and no talking in the chat while playing. We trust our members to know and understand when it's time to focus and be disciplined, in the security of having the backdrop of liberal, entertaining discussion when battles are in their less intense stages. Our members' ability to be independently responsible and disciplined when needed explains why we have so many highly-regarded community contributors: Official Servers Admins, Tournament Runners (Groupfighting and NWEC), Graphics Deisgners and Gameplay Testers. We are not a regiment of drones, but rather a collection of creative and independent-minded individuals, and this culture is what makes us thrive!
15e's long term goal is to become more established as a large regiment in the community. This means we're eagerly open for recruitment. Any player who shares aforementioned traits of a 15e player, or aspires to gain these traits ought to have a go and enlist! Thorough training, battle experience and the friendly and informative Regiment atmosphere will bring any enthusiastic players up to standard in no time. So, we direct all interested to the 'Recruitment' Section below on this thread and await your applications with anticipation!

These are the ranks we use in the 15e Régiment d'Infantrie Légère. As a rule of thumb the higher the rank the more responsibility one has, and the more influence one wields. The ranks also make out the chain of command for the battlefield. Although it may be frequently overridden to let everyone have a go at leading if nothing else is stated it reverts to the rank. All officers are involved in the administrative side of things as well as the general betterment of the regiment in one way or another.
A simple overview:
Company Officers: Capitaine Lieutenant Sous-Lieutenant | Senior Non-Commissioned Officers: Sergent-Major Sergent | Junior Non-Commissioned Officers: Caporal-Fourrier Caporal | Enlisted Rankers: Soldat de la Légion d'Honneur Soldat Vétéran Soldat de Première Classe Soldat Cadet |
Detailed Explanation:
The Capitaine is the leader of the regiment, and as such is ultimately in charge of making sure that the regiment is running properly. The most important task of the Capitaine is to delegate tasks to those people that can fulfill them most efficiently.
Generally the holder of these ranks are second in command of the regiment. And as such it's their job to cover for the leader Capitaine in his absence as well as undertake in-game leading when needed as well as tasks to improve and administrate the regiment. (Only if the regiment grows alot will both Sous-Lieutenant and Lieutenant be in use at once)
Senior Non-Commissioned Officers:
The Holders of these ranks are generally doing the same thing as the subaltern officers, but to a lesser degree. If the regiment is at roughly the size it is at the moment the SgtMj will be the third in command.
Junior Non-Commissioned Officers:
The holder of this rank is heavily involved in the administrative side of the regiment, without the leadership responsibility of a more senior rank. The holder of this rank is skipped in the chain of command.
The holders of these ranks are generally heavily involved in the administrative side of the regiment and also do a fair deal of ingame leading. These are people who set up most the linebattles, update rosters and the steam group etc.
Enlisted Rankers:
In order to achieve this rank you have to be exceptional! Only those who are the most active, most able in melee and have been in the regiment for a long while are eligable for this rank. Historically speaking, those who recieved the legion of honour were exempt from the height requirement of joining the old guard. For an era that loved categorizing people based on their size this means that you had to be pretty damn badass in order to be exempt, this rank is for those who have the same spirit of badassery as those who recieved the legion of honour during the napoleonic era, and as such only few people will ever achieve this rank.
In order to achieve this rank you have to be a longstanding member of the regiment, you must also be able in melee and you have to be fairly active as well. The french veteran soldiers of the napoleonic wars were those who sowed fear into all of Europe and it's due to their efforts and bravery the napoleonic era is so well remembered and such interest exists today. Thus, those who achieve this rank are some of the best players the community has to offer.
In order to acheive this rank you need to have been in the regiment for a while, furthermore you have to be somewhat adept at melee, not being able to block down will not cut it! Being able to strafe during the charge is also a vital skill!
The bread and butter of the regiment. These are the people who make or break the regiment! Only one requirement is placed upon soldats, and that is to have fun!
