    New NA server, Just a few Questions

    The Bank / Bank Scripts are held privately and very close to the chest of PF Official EU's server owner.  This is to stop a PW style server war and also as the PF community is in a bit of a low player count period atm having players spread between servers would not be good.

    This week we take a look at the Roman faction.
    We based our roman equipment around the early and mid Imperial Age but dedicated historians will of course find many anachronisms.



    Roman players will enjoy:

    - Heavy Infantry based gameplay
    - Historically accurate light and heavy armour as well as melee and ranged weapons of all sorts including different  pilla, galdius, spathas etc.
        - Legioner equipment (Main Heavy Infantry)
        - Velite equipment
        - Archer equipment
        - Equite equipment
        - Many togas and tunics for senate and civilian use
    - Iron/Steel Based crafting
    - Several eagle/banners from different historical Legions
    - A variety of props based on Roman architecture such as the Pantheon.

    I got the regular Lorica armour retexture too if you want it to fit in with the worn helmet, looks kinda duff sitting ontop of shiny basic original.

    It needs a normal map, no matter what. And if you're going to then get it right and look at heightmapping. If you don't give it a normal map it will look really dodgy ghetto ingame.

    I've found specular_shader_skin good for most things, it doesn't give that weird blur effect on swings you get from specular_shader_noskin_bump_high. RGB and Coeff to about 5 and tweak depending on the coloring of your texture.

    You must also consider that the quality spears by used most players  in the event  are actually pretty expensive, not the best the easiest weapon to buy on an actuall public server...

    anyway, did you find them too fast or too powerful?

    (btw... have you seen how some romans charged without blocking on a spearman :razz: lol )

    Too powerful, they don't really ever glance and with a bit of spin they can 1 hit through armour.

    The bows are also too weak for this time period.
