me Helliod(aka theburninglord) and scoty are making a warhammer fantasy based mod for the nw module.

we are going to release 5 factions for it
the empire
chaos
High elves
Orcs
The dwarvs

each faction got a other play style and types of units where the empire s the most balanced its play style  with shooting units and in close quaters


we will release as the first version only the empire and chaos
other races we release like chapter episodes of the war

our only problem is we need a guy that can texture the armours and weapons so if you have interests to help us make this mod pm me on this forum or send me a message on steam (theburninglord)

we got the models ready for the hand-gunners of the empire

Hello there its Helliod here with some news about the concept for the troops for the first release of the war of the old world the code is done, now there is just the models and textures to do.

In the first release the empire ride out with a giant army to stop the chaos invasion led by a chaos lord called Archaon.

The empire tactics that we intend for them is to protect their artillery and ranged troops with light to medium armoured troops and their cav flank the enemy with their lances. Later on they will get the light cavalry unit the pistoliers but for balance reasons they are not in it yet. They have differentinfantry units like the spearman, halberdier, swordsman, handgunner, and the greatswords from Altadorf. Their spears and halberdierss have the task to hold the line against enemy cav and infantry suported by swordsman and the greatswords. The greatswords are the elite of the empire swordsman with their two handed swords forged by the dwarves they charge the enemy head on push them back as far they can. They have also some ranged units like the the handgunners of Hochland, known for their skills with their rifle, and the huntsmen of the Middenland hunters, they support the army with a skirmish formation and fire their arrows to enemy to thin out their ranks. The huntsmen will be added in a later patch after the first big release period.

The chaos are a heavy armoured army led by Archaon, lord of the end times. Their main infantry unit is the chaos warriors heavy armoured swordsman unit with one/two handed swords and a shield. These units are supported with the infantry marauders, light to medium armoured troops with throwing axes and a simple hand weapon and shield. They also have two cav units, the chaos warriors on horseback or the marauders. Then we have their special infantry unit the chaos chosen blessed by the chaos gods they are thougher than normal chaos warriors but instead of a sword and shield they have a two handed axe.
