Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord Developer Blog 15 - Valuable Relationships

Users who are viewing this thread

Greetings all and thanks for making your way over to our 15th Development Blog. It's been a little while since we updated the blog, but we've been hard at work on the game and we're excited to talk a little about something we've been working on recently.

They are aware that they have announced it earlier than they should have. bankert320.

They announced Bannerlord way too early... Don't get me wrong, I want them to take as long as they need to make an amazing game. But they shouldn't have announced it 2012. We're waiting and waiting and I am personally losing interest. For five years we're waiting now and we still know nothing about a possible release date. Not even a vague direction, which year it might be. I mean, a year ago they expected to release at least a beta in November/December 2016. Now we're in April 2017 and still they say "We want to get your hands on it, as soon as possible".

They could've just remained quiet with their plans about Bannerlord for at least 3 years longer. I will still buy the game, once it's released someday. But I'm not as hyped as I was a few years ago :/

Frankly, my money is on the delay being caused by the desire to make Bannerlord available to consoles. If Bannerlord had just been for the PC we would probably have been playing it last year, but because they have to optimize the game across Playstation 4 and X-Box One as well as PC then they had to work out even more kinks. And the worst part of all of this? The PS4 and Xbox One will be about 4 years old by the time Bannerlord comes out, with the PS5 and whatever else comes after Xbox One well on the horizon. See, this is what happens when Indie Developers get talked into trying to make their product available on multiple markets at the same time - they either have to cut corners and lose planned content or delay the games release over and over.

Again, the developers have stated that is not happening, console ports will come long after the PC release, if they happen at all.

Oh, sorry. I was misinformed because in a Google search Bannerlord came up as planned for console release. Anyways, I am of course still happy to know that development is still underway.

Its hard to be-leave , what we are told as we were told we will get the game in some form by end 2016.. now we wait and wait....and hope

I'm glad to hear something at least. I don't really care for multiplayer support as I could only care for single player. Keep up the blogs I really want to see a finished product. I'm not going to rush you like a few others have been.

What I'm more interested in is how "easy" it will be to implement ones own quests regarding mods. I mean one big slogan of bannerlord was it to make it easier for mod makers.
So what I want to know is, will there be anything in that direction?

im not into modmaking but that sounds insanly fun. bannerlord in diffrent versions and quest makes the game even bigger and "new" again

If they were smart, they would copy a page out of Paradox's book, and that is weekly Dev Diaries. Don't have to give much details, or even screenshots, just write a page every week to keep people in the loop and stop them from loosing interest. Heck even one every two weeks is fine.

People aren't losing interest though, thats the thing. As long as taleworlds doesn't say "bannerlord is cancelled" then fans will still check this site even after months and months of silence.
u wrong its possible. im not like one week ago. its not important for me when the game will release anymore.
do you think when the game release, had it any word for saying graphically.
i think its graphic engine is for 3 years ago.
i dont now about you but when i see a game with newer and better graphic i cant play weaker games.
i will not buy a game if the game not be up to date graphically.
i dont know how much taleworlds wants continue creation but the games improves every day
i hope they can have at least lowest standards of the day.

taleworld do your job best, after this so long time, we espect perfect game.

When I say NPCs I mean lords and ladies

Going along with having more important connections with characters in the game, I hope they make the relationships you have with other characters more in depth than Warband( though it was great in Warband.)

Maybe add more things you can do with lords and ladies as quest such as
- boar hunts
- talking philosophy( have to choose what to say and if you say the right thing your relationship goes up)
- friendly duel
- assassinate someone

I would also like to see more first person interaction with the NPC's and their quests for some quest.

For example:

-On a boar hunt y'all both together and what you do in the boar hunt affects your relationship'
- You could be asked to a dinner and then you have to interact with them and maybe learn valuable info

I would also like to see the NPC's themselves more personal where they walk around more whenever you meet them and so.

What do y'all think?
Is this already happening and I missed it?

Your post works here because it is related to the blog post, but for Bannerlord in general, go here: https://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php?topic=249537.new#new

Anyways, I do like some of your ideas. Rather than a lord just giving you a quest and walking away, it would be pretty awesome if some of the quests were to help alongside them.

5 or maybe 6 Years ago I was so much excited about Bannerlord
now I mainly check Taleworlds website to laugh (like it's a real-life joke) or give myself motivation never to become like you

I'm not even sure when (if) this comes out I'll be able to play any video games after I'm 30...

See you guys with another post on 2020

Good Job really!
