Me and my team were ready for our official today. We all gathered in ts and were ready to play our official at 20;30 GMT, the time that I confirmed with CarpeDiem twice.
Why did we plan our official on sunday? Because that is the only day our team is able to show up as a whole and play officials.
So there we were, ready to have the adventure of our life, but wait??!? the enemy was nowhere to be found, this is a big problem! I decided that swift action would be most sufficient in this case. With a swift movement I moved my mouse over to the steamlogo and doubleclicked it, went to friendlist to search for Carpediem's name. When I arrived at the name "Carpediem" nothing but horror awaited me, Carpediem was offline for 3 hours! I didn't know how to react, so I just sat there and stared at the teamspeak full of my team whilst my body went numb. "This must be a misunderstanding" I thought to myself, I calmed myself down. I knew that when people think more rational when they are calm. Thoughts came and went untill I finally reached my verdict; I will just ask their players if they are gathering already for our planned match. With another swift stroke of my mouse I went back to the steam logo and double clicked it, searched for Kiano, and asked him "Yo, u guys ready in 10 mins?". The following response shook me like I have never been shook before. Kiano replied: "No idea, Carpe hasn't said anything to me". I started to sweat, "This can't be happening" I thought to myself. That's it! I will just have to ask another person who he did tell about our official. That said I went back to steam and typed the following name into the search bar; "JarvisAndPi". "Yo, u guys rdy in 10 mins?" I asked again whilst anxiously waiting for his response. "xD I have no idea. Assuming you're talking about SL." I thought I was going to fiant after reading this, but I manged to keep myself awake with the thought "We will have to play a match soon, I can't faint now!". Starting a conversation with JarvisAndPi would give me some answers, so that is what I did. "Yeah, our official is in 10" I replied. "Carpe hasn't added me or told me about anything, can't help." His response was. I was confused, this can't be? How can a captain and commander neglect his duties like this? I know, it must be because JarvisAndPi isn't a player worthy of such honours. As I was about to ask the last player I knew of being in Carpediem's team, I heard a familliar sound through my headset. Instantly I knew what I was dealing with, this is a Steam message. My heart began to race, this must be Carpediem telling me that our battle will continue as promised. With an even swifter movement than before I moved my mouse over to the now orange steam logo and double clicked it. This, however, was not a message of Carpediem, no no. This message was from one of his admirers, Sparkie. I quickly read through a series of messages that Sparkie had sent me in the time it took me to bring up my steam conversation with him. "Do you know our server to play?" "xD, Carpe didn't say nothing xD". After reading his 2 "xD's" I knew I was dealing with something serious, and it didn't take me long to think of a reply that would be fitting in this situation. "Not yet" I told the young warrior. It took him about 1 minute to reply to my message. "He must have broken his feather pencil" I thought to myself. But it didn't matter, every word I read was of extreme importance. "I ask Carpe if we wanna play and he dc, /facepalm". After reading the message and seeing the young proud warrior facepalm I knew that this match was decided. The victory belonged to the might house of Kane. However, The noble Kane and his strong warriors were not happy, as we had anticipated this battle would be great and amazing for many years.
I decided that after this event council would be best, and so I went to the only person I knew fit for such council, Counciller Belendor. After recalling all my horrors and telling counciller Belendor of what happend he gave me his judgement, and it went as followed; "Yes, a default has been given." After hearing counciller Bellendor's words an empty gap was filled inside me. "This battle may have been a default, but the next will surely be one for the books." Is what I understood Counciller Belendor was trying to tell me.... He always has his way with words, you see. The time came for me to tell my warriors, who had been waiting for my judgement, what wisdom I gained from counciller Belendor. I stood up and cleared my throat *Uhum* as I uttered the following words: "This battle may have ended without a fight, but the result is the same, we are victorious. Now you may be thinking 'But Sir.Kane, is this really a victory?' And to those words I say, Yes. Yes my noble warriors, even battles that are not fought on the battlefield can be counted as victory. You see, noble warriors, some battles are fought in the mind, and this time we had the stronger mindset." My speech seemed to touch their hearts as some of them started to tear up. However, the second purpose of my speech was to light their fires again for the battles to come, and I did just that. "Kane Kane Kane Kane" they all screamed. All I could do was look at them, laugh and think to myself "This is my house, my pride and my joy, this is what I live for." Life went on like it did before the match, warriors went home to their families and life was peaceful, no one could have foreseen the horror that would befall our mighty household. The day that I dare not speak out loud came. We called this dark day "Retardism". Where to begin? I was sitting quietly in my chair whilst having a great time with my allied warriors as I was approached by a strange figure. This man was dressed in all black, seemed to have quite a long head and sounded like he had eternal wisdom. The man walked straight towards me and said "A default has been given, but I, Dark lord Walty, will not allow this. Instead the enemy leader has gone through the pain you felt and a rematch will be held. You shall give me a day on which you will play and I will make sure that this time they stay. This however cannot be done by you, a compromise must be met with the enemy too." I dared not oppose this strange man as I had heard of his name before. A mighty man who controls all battles that go on in this land, and if you oppose him you would meet death soon after. But this was fine, I knew my warriors well through all the years we had fought together. "Sunday 20;30 GMT" I replied to the dark lord, Walty. "This is the only day that my warriors will be able to leave their others posts and come to my aid". "Sunday will be possible, but if you win, you will have to face another house right after the first battle". This seemed strange to me, so I decided to ask the mighty lord Walty a question. "Can the second battle not wait untill the week after? Time is of the essense and we can simply not afford to play 2 battles in a row. This and the fact that our warriors cannot make another day in the week leads me to ask you if you could please reconcider the time of the second battle." But the dark lord Walty did not like it when people opposed his plans, so he decided to enforce his opinion. The final opinion stands; "A default shall not be given." And: "You will not be allowed to only replay this one match on sunday 20;30 GMT."
Normally me and my fellow household warriors would not see a problem in many battles, but as said before, we simply do not have the time for 2 matches on sunday or an official anywhere before that time. We do not ask for money or anything as such. All we ask for is understanding. We have noticed that this understanding will not come from the dark lord himself or from any of his associates, so we are left to ask the other households. Will you support our cause and stand up to the dark lord, or will we let this strange figure controll our daily lifes for eternity.
I thank you for your time fellow warriors, lords and, ofcourse, friends.
- Kane.
