The event is public unless otherwise said during the event. The hosts retain the right to revert to clan only if problems arrise.
The focus will be on variety, so expect to see faction and team swaps to keep things fresh.
The possibility of round specific rules and mini events exists, though they will not be added here

Rules

- Listen to the hosts. Ignoring the red admin text will result in immediate punishment.
+Appeals will be listened to only after the events. Complaining about punishments during the event will result in a 1 hour ban.
- Keep the global chat civilized. You aren't nearly as funny as you might think.

Fighting:
- An entire group of people running off to camp in a corner of the map without their entire team present is not allowed.
- Remain as a group of no less than 3 people. Straying from the group (and then fighting/ramboing) will be punished.
+ Clan members will receive an immediate kick, public players (pubbers) will receive a warning first.
+ Exception is made for obvious scouts/late runners.
- Skirmisher and cavalry numbers per clan/side are determined on a map to map basis.
- Ranged classes are required to follow their infantry.
- No delaying, if you're the last player/group alive on your team, it is your sacred duty to charge into a glorious melee and bring honour to the fallen
+ Sidenote: You do not have to fight as lines and once fighting starts, all bets are off. But before and after: Stay in group

Equipment
Class restrictions may vary battle to battle.
- Only the clan/legion leader is allowed to use general/leader classes.
- Only the second in command of each clan is allowed to use the captain class (Lochagos, Centurion, Meddix, Ariomaros) and any equipment they have.
- Any basic infantry allowed and any equipment that can be afforded. Cavalry and Skirmishers only on host discretion. Elites allowed for 1 in 5 players or 2-3 out of about 10 per clan.
- If you have a shield and a spear, you're required to have both equipped. This to avoid what essentially counts as an exploit.
- There are no rules regarding the usage of ranged weaponry.

So if there was 50+ ppl in the SB which from wha i understand there usually is does that mean a whole formation of skirms/slingers/archers would be allowed or would it be a limit on the numbers of ranged units allowed

They would be limited, though the exact number of alloved ranged units is based on the experiences during the shildbattle. Something along the lines of 1 per clan/legion for 50 people might be good. Though as said, decided in each shieldbattle.

so if we only had one or two ranged units would they need to stay next to the inf and if so do they then act as inf or can they still use ranged weapons

rules said:
- Ranged classes are required to follow the 3 person line rule.
- Ranged classes are allowed to skirmish (with at least 2 teammates nearby) only if allied infantry is still alive.
Of course they can use ranged weapons, so long as they have 2 people from the same team nearby.
