Does anyone know of a mod thats adds primitve firearms to native?
or can anyone make one?
Firearms could include:
- bombards for sieges
- handgonnes (handcannons)
- hackbuts mounted on castle walls
I understand that adding such things could tip the balance of gameplay, so there must be some disadvantages too;
- It would take up 2 slots - the gonne and a belt with powder bottle and shot with enough for 10 shots say (Large bags would be avalable)
- troops with such weapons could only be found in taverns as they were very specialised many people didnt like the new weapons
- these troops would be expensive as would the powder and shot
- slow reload (speeds up with higher skill level or proficency?)
- a small chance of blowing up in battle dealing a small amount of damage to you and those close to you
Advantages
- In large numbers could have a demoralising effect on the enemy
- A very long range and accurate up to 30m
- huge penetrative power, making plate armour near useless
- the gonnes themselfs are cheap as they are simple to make
Thanks for reading - post responses and ideas please i want to hear them
