But sure, I gotcha.

Hmm... as far as I've seen, you're really awesome in making scenery. But I really don't know much about your projects...

Why? The quality of this mod is simply superior to theirs, in fact all the mods mentioned are, anything you get from them will look like a stick in a pile of ****, except the exact reverse.

That being said, Im liking the mod, well done. Douche move from the WFaS mod/game/whatever, but what can you do.

Goodness, why the hate?

We're trying to help each other out. When WFaS pulled their models, I immediately scanned over 100 images for Bayard-X and his team to help them out from my collection of all sorts of weapon manuals, firearms, clothing, paintings, artwork, and I even offered to help code for it. Gotta help each other out. Our mod is in it's infancy and we're looking at probably 10-12 months of work before we're done. Our uniforms aren't L'Aigle, but our modeler and texturer is a wonderful, dutiful young man from Indonesia who helps out and does a great deal. He improves every day and will go back and redo them when he has time.

Not everything's about graphics. Gameplay matters, and what's under the hood is not always what it seems. Building a mod or a game is not something easy to do if you're looking to do it correctly and well.

yeah, don't be hating. Twilight of the Sun King is a perfectly good work-in-progress with a lot of impressive content.

The subtle art of misquoting, I presume?

I agree

I sent your team some photos of a few of those. Most of those are actually preserved Tournament Jousting armours. When the wars were getting a bit too musketry for the Nobles, they started stepping up the flair on the tournament stuff. There's a fine line between the Renaissance and the Late Middle Ages due to armour. A great, great deal of social change. One of the most fascinating areas to look at it when seeing how technology can alter the world and create a new era. We're in the middle of one right now.

I think those would be amazing in game. A few commanders actually did wear some of that out onto the field. General soldiers didn't, because making those kinds of things was kind of a custom, labour intensive job, even in Milan, where plate armour reached it's zenith thanks to perfecting stable high heat mechanisms and understanding how to make armour hard but not brittle.

These three really help to show you how incredible the Milanese and their northern German counterparts really created some amazing pieces of art with armour. Plus it shows you some ways knights would have *probably* fought, according to manuals, paintings, and historical reenactment attempts.  I love that guy's series.

I love those parade helmets too  The Crow's Beak is one of my favourite. The Northern Italians always have had this interesting love with the "macabre" and the "horror" of things in a way I've always found fascinating.

Anyway,..

I think making those would be awesome. I vote a yes, but that's also a lot of work .

I actually meant to mention this to you previously.

The Langeschwert combat system has a long history in Germany. Tallhoffers is pretty famous.

Also an awesome group of people.

I have several Fechtbücher from the Renaissance. Do you want me to scan them? I can probably find them online though...

So I was playing this, and I was wondering, are you planning on adding the Pre-Battle Orders & Deployment, and Freelancer? Just wondering, Freelancer especially would be pretty great if you just want to get into epic battles, not that Im not having fun with my d'Artagnan-esque character

We're working on that and receive help/support from TotSK...
Great, great.

On a related note, are you planning on changing the sieges? I used to be quite interested in this era (The Battle of Pavia remains as one of my favourite battles of all time), and from what I remember, cannons had not quite yet made walls completedly obsolete, but were getting there. It was to my understanding that sieges with ladder assaults would have been pure suicide, unlike breaching a few holes in the wall and charging in. Any plans on changing the siege scenes to fit the era? Im saying this because in the past Ive made a few siege scenes with breached walls, and I might be interested in seeing if one could make the sieges of this mod similar.
