im confused, why are people reserving british regiments when the only factions listed are french and german?  i know you said in following releases factions will be added, and i assume britian will be a priority, but will the reserved british units just be wearing french uniforms or have you extended the faction list to include the brits?

Is it possible that I can find the freikorps future leader? I truly would like to have an infantrie battailon in it and we can have different names. Rather than taking an entire unit.

The british are becoming more and more of a posibility with the new stuff from myself and Rojen's work

Oh, another thing. The majority of regiments did NOT use Stahlhelms! Field caps and pickelhaubes were the most common headgear at the time - Bavaria tended to use field caps, while Prussia used pickelhaubes, mainly. I'd suggest using a mix of all three, with different infantry regiments for each - i.e. Napoleonic Wars with KGL uniforms and regular line infantry uniforms.

At the start of the war, (1914-1915) yes. But after that, certainly not.

I wrote that in a hurry. Though I'd say pickelhaubes and field caps were used up to at least January of 1917. I'm picky. Very picky.  :???:

1916 was the last "big" year of the Pickelhaube, later used the most of the German army Stahlhelme.

Since people are reserving regiments I think it would be a shame to lose them so here it is.

Iron Europe Unit List!

1er Régiment d'Infanterie
84e Régiment d'Infanterie de Ligne
12th Australian Light Horse Regiment
21e Regiment d'Infanterie de Ligne
k.u.k Infanterie-Regiment Nummero 59 "Erzherzog Rainer"
10th Bavarian Infantry Regiment
26th Battalion (New Brunswick Infantry)
Brigata Italiana
Essex Regiment "The Pompadours"
Welsh Guards
151e Régiment d'Infanterie de Ligne

please tell me if you have been left out. Also I will add Factions when more people reserve regiments

Dont complain you dont have to post I just think that if people are reserving regiments that they shouldnt get lost in other conversation

however I do realise that this mod is new and wont get released for a while thats why I didnt make a whole new thread for it

Umm, you missed out the KSLI  (king shropshire light infantry), I posted a few days ago,

Some pictures of Bavarian field caps would be awesome.

Hope these help. The Feldgrau colour was used for Jagers exclusively, while the standard grey coloured w/ red stripe Feldmutzen was used for the standard, run-of-the-mill infantry. Enjoy!

Last I checked everyone but Jagers wore 'Feldgrau'. Jagers wore a greener 'Graugrün'. Something to remember is that the Feldgrau at the start of the war was very olive-drab in colour. As the war ran on, the cloth became cheaper and browner.

Another thing. By late 1916 (which I understand is when the mod is set) the vast majority of German front-line troops had received their stahlhelms. It was really only second-line and reservist regiments that retained the pickelhauben by this time. The soft caps were universally issued, but generally not permitted to be worn on the front-line (not that anyone would want to). It's always nice to have variety in mods, though.

Anyway, if you want good pictures of German field caps, check out The Kaiser's Bunker if you haven't already. It has some great pictures of extant German and Commonwealth uniforms.

I reserve the German alpenkorps
Noooooooooooo
I forgot to reserve it... my great-grandfather and both his brothers served in it

Atleast good guys like the FKI will take it...
Btw the Alpenkorps was mainly bavarian and not "german"
I hope you will remember the fact that one of the best german units in WW1 was not prussian.

Proud Bavarian . Like one of the best Austrian units were the "Kaiserjäger" recruited mainly in Tirol.

Alpenkorps was a whole division. Perhaps you can each take a regiment.
