Zelda mod

Zelda Mod!!! I hope this hasn't been thought up already. I have planned my complexe story line/how the game should work.
Its in the testing stages. how to make temples, how to make a temple of time door openable when all 7 *things* are in possession.
mainly I just testing what I'm able to do in mount and blade.
With the new version .802, I've learned that some of the moding tools are not up to date.
so I'm wandering if they are trying to get the modding tools up to date.(mainly the unaficial editor)
thx for any answers to my noobish question.

I dont think their going to update the unofficial editor, however the new module system (python) will come out soon, and the map editor and brf editor are both working with this version.

yeah, besides, since your mod require some heavy modification to reach a satisfatory level, you should use python. it will give you many more possibilities. anyway i'm curious...can you ellaborate more in this zelda mod? I don't like Zelda, but i'm curious on what and how would you implemente that

Sounds like a good idea...and a good topic (although, why not just play LoZ rather than spending a year to make a mod?) Care to give some more of all this info you thought up?

Unless you skin the main character to look like any of the below examples:

you lose sir! But if you manage to get those skins, well.... You win Sir!

Good luck.

The game needs a 'kid' option for those insane people who want to be 3' kid Link, and a 'regular' option for normal people who want to be grown-up Link.  Oh, and a scaling Master Sword that always looks the same regardless how old he is.

It would actually be VERY cool if it was possible to have "cell-shaded" characters/environments in Mount&Blade, I always wanted a light hearted, "comic", fighting game, the whole emphasis on realism is nice but sometimes a little comedy is fun too.

Edit: good example of "cartoony" looking horse implemented in M&B:

"cell-shaded"
Well, I think since the shaders are programmable one could make them to cell-shade the game. At least, when the Paper World mode was released someone  had posted a shader file to make M&B black-and-white.

I think perhaps what I really meant was "cartoony", cell shading is a whole different league...
I basically meant that instead of realistic shapes one would have something similar to the link I posted above and this:

but I guess it would be somewhat hard (if not impossible with M&B current engine).

The funny thing about that "cartoony" looking horse, is that it IS Epona, from Zelda. The Tri-force is on his Saddle.

I know that, someone posted that link above.
I hope this actually develops into a mod.

It seems you guys have carried my post along. Thx for say'in stuff and for the links. To bad M&B doesn't have different sized characters.
(That would be awsome for dwarves in the Last days mod!) I'm not truly sure on coding to the *Best* Level. Going to have to study!
Good thing I'm homeschooled! Only takes about 2 HRs to do my math and stuff so I have lots of time on my hands.

As far as my complex plot is concerned, this mod will have dungeons. I'll *learn* how to make men spawn where I want them to on the map.
(just like castles)
There will be boss's,I'll use armor to make some of them look more like monsters.
Some boss's will be fast or be on horses and the dungeons will be created for different styles of combat against them.
Other boss's may be slow but have 30 feet weapons or special things.(still thinking of Ideas)Tell me if you guys get any cool ideas.
You'll have to maze your way through the dungeons(I have awsome plans like jumpimg from pillir to pillir and getting lost in rooms with invisible walls ect..)

When you reach the end of a dungeon there will be a door to go through wich will send you to the scene with the boss and a treasure chest.
You'll beat the boss and get the *thing* from the chest.
once you've gotten all the *things* from the dungeons you will be able to enter the temple of time thus getting the master sword inside!
The idea is that the master sword is the only thing that can hurt ganondorf*the awsome old time enemy!*
Ganondorf will have his own castle that you'll attack once you get the master sword.
You can actully attack his castle before getting the master sword but you won't be able to hit 1 damage on ganodorf.

I've planned this mod for months but never got around to the actual game coding.

Hmm... have I left anything out?

ok. eh... er... um.. thats about all I'm gona tell ya for now okay dokay.

Oh um, I've got a question.

In wings I've never actually figured how to cut a line*you know, make a new line on an object to manipulate*
could any one give me a hint or a tutorial for this? thx

Did you read highelfwarrior's tutorial?

Cutting a "line" should be simple, just select it, right click down to "cut" makes certain equally spaced verticies, and like, move it, it might come out a bit awkward though, so you'll need to connect certain verts to make the model for "stable".
