        THE INTERNATIONALS

Welcome to the International Stage of the tournament! In this stage teams from both region will clash head to head to determine who the best team and region is. Wait what? Determine the best region as well? That's right. In this stage not only will you compete against foreign teams, but you'll also be competing on behalf of your region. The winning region will be the one to receive the prizes.

Now here's how it works - the first place EU team and the first place NA team will play each other, then the second place EU team and second place NA team will play each other and so on going all the way to the fourth place team. After all the matches are completed, we'll take all the rounds won and all the rounds lost - throw it into one big pot and the region with the most rounds won, will win the prizes. Prize picking priority will be determined by rounds won, so whichever team won the most rounds for their region gets priority.

All of the matches will be completed during the same week.

It's time to walk the walk.

        CLARIFICATION

So since their may be some confusion, this section will be used to clear it up. Let's start with the maps and factions, we decided that it'd be better to roll with fixtures for this stage considering all the server switching, and DDoS stuff will deal with. We felt that some constant variable would make teams more comfortable during that process. Now with that out of the way, I'll explain how it'll go down. Meaning, who will play what. We normally decide that by the higher seeded team but since both teams are the top seeds of their division. The team that won the most rounds during the regional elimination stage will be the top spawn, and referred to as Team A.

Team A will start the match as the top spawn in the first set. They will then swap spawns for the remainder of the match.
[size=12pt]
I'll break it down further;

Apis Europae vs. One Eyed
Top spawn: Apis Europae (same number of rounds won, so I used rounds lost as the tiebreaker)

Random Potatoes vs. West Knights
Top spawn: Random Potatoes

Geese Pack vs. Turtle Knights
Top spawn: Turtle Knights

Irish Rebels vs. No Teams For Old Players
Top spawn: Irish Rebels

[size=12pt]Okay so now, let's touch on the servers these teams will play on.

Apis Europae vs. One Eyed
Server (Home - Away): WFL_NY_1 (OE Home) & WPL_FR_1 (AE Home)

Random Potatoes vs. West Knights
Server: WFL_NY_1 (Or any NA server of RP choice)

Geese Pack vs. Turtle Knights
Server (Home - Away): WFL_NY_1 (OE Home) & WPL_FR_1 (AE Home)

Irish Rebels vs. No Teams For Old Players
Server (Home - Away): WFL_NY_1 (NTFoP Home) & WPL_FR_1 (IR Home)

I'm pretty sure that clears up any confusion you guys might have, but if you're still confused or have a question about something. Please contact me via steam or PM. Have fun!

Why does the top NA seed start by playing the top EU seed if the format is single elim? Makes absolutely zero sense logically so I'm guessing it was just a mistake.

Currently it's pretty much as if you're having the match you should be having for the grand finals during quarter finals lul.

_Osiris_ said:
i saw that but it still says single elimination. Or are they doing single elim for regions then again for total?

This is the quarters, semi's and grand finals all wrapped up at once. It's not my favorite per se as a 4th seed could beat a 1st in theory and such. After one round you will know the winner of the internationals as well as the winning region.

Due to a lot of difficulties with server attacks and the tourney being delayed, the admins thought this was the best compromise.

Instead of this, 32 vs 32 random plains? 1 round winner takes all  :shifty:

I actually wanted to suggest this lol

Due to recent delays the above was considered to be the best option and get it all done in one week, with 4 matches not 12. Consider it as a moment of rare unity on both continents, coming together against a shared enemy. NA scum

Deacon Barry said:
Not really - it means they contributed most to their continent winning
Is beating an easier opponent, by a greater margin, contributing more? I think not necessarily.

But I'm not competing and as a spectator it doesn't really bother me. I see these sponsor goodies as fun-prizes, sort of and don't really feel like to have an ultra, try-hard solution for their distribution. This looks fine to me and like a pretty fun idea, after the real $$$ prizes have been given out.

All I want is some free G-fuel; whose butt a guy gotta kiss around here to get some of that sweet nectar?

Surkan said:
It's a nice but unfair idea. I don't doubt that the gaps between top na teams are bigger than those between the EU teams.

I guess we will find out. I have to say I'm more excited to see the bottom two matches than the top two. Like the idea of this.

Yeah I definitely don't mind if these prizes go to anyone... as long as they're EU  Will be nice to root for some of the teams I'm usually hoping perform badly

We all hoped for a more interesting international stage to be honest. This is just too plain for all the hype generated for weeks, still better than nothing and good luck everyone! Some sick matchups.
