2 problems, grid size and axis control

the first image is from highelf's tutorial and the other is mine. As you can see, the background grid (or whatever) is too big in my program, and that gives me problems like when adding objects they are too big n stuff.
The other problem, is when Highelf presses y, the image centers properly, but mine is backwards. I've tried the others- x, z, alt-y,... noone works as it should.
I've also tried Highelf's version and it's the same. How do I solve these problems?




 
1st click on the object (object select (the full square/triangle on the top)) and select scale uniform. Scale it to fit other objects...

2nd turn of caps lock or rotate the head

then change your import options

click on import -> wavefront .obj (click on the little square next to it). Import scale 10 and change the swap y and z axis option.

Sorry for not writing properly, I'm just to tired  :lol:
