Well just because Taleworlds was gracious enough to support easy modding of their game doesn't mean they shouldn't be allowed to make an expansion.

People don't complain when companies who limit the modding of their programs release expansions that "could have been a mod".

Besides that, Taleworlds is my favorite game company and I want to see them rise. I also am extremely interested in this particular period/setting (cossacks 1 nostalgia ftw) and there are no mods/mod teams that look like they are going to do this any time soon.

Exactly. What other game has this complexity of gameplay. Not to mention a game that has combat like this game. For $15 bucks. I will support this company to compound on what they already have. I will say I would like sea combat to be introduced.

Bought F&S expansion.
Installed.

Tried to play. Boring ...

Found a kind of rootkit in my autostart - a part of F&S protection system.

Trashed the game. Deleted all it's files and the damn protection.

What a waste of 10 EURO

Yeah and if you download some random mod you most probably have...

a new game.
with the same engine.
BUT.
new map.
new multiplayer maps.
new multiplayer mod.
storylines.
new equipement.
new way to recruit people.
upgrading your troops with the equipment you want them to have.
AND MUCH MORE.

for free.

Exactly what i've been thinking. I actually hoped that it could have some improvements at least..siege warfare,just for an example.

But no,im not going to buy it.

Preordered it from Steam...
Not sure if I will play it from day 1 however,
after all I have my own RL with business and the like and also
at the moment I´m still busy with warband,
especially as I currently develop an Access Database for warband,
as some kind of in game companion/support  (well, rather an besides the game support,
as you need a 2nd computer to use it efficiently ).

Cause M&B and M&B:W is almost the best games i ever played.
