My modding effort to make 1812 a bit more realistic , so far a little re-balance . More smoke , Polished Landscapes , challenging battles, noflying bolts , realistic weapon configuration ,longer lasting battles , bigger battlemaps , realistic troop composition.

Forgive me for my awful, stupid ignorance, but is the guy in the trenchoat supposed to be French foreign legion? I know next to nothing about the time period, and im curious about the crazy man running into battle with an axe...

The only reason i ask is because

French Foreign Legion didn't exist until they invaded Algeria, which was in May 1830, so not in this period

The people with axes would have been either sappers (Engineers) or part of the Cavalry (They were issued with axes to cut the hooves off of dead horses to prove that the horses were dead)
