This game makes me so sad, I mean it (too long to read, come in if you care)

Its my 396th day in Perisno, and I have started my own faction with Princess Birgit after betraying Drachen. I captured two more castles later on so I got Freising(Birgit's), Rhenstal castle(Mine) and Julre Castle(One of my Companions').Drachen wages war against me since the very first day and I fought hard for a long time. I don't understand why they are so eager to defeat me. I mean I suggested them to keep fighting the Zann after the invasion. But they don't listen and make peace with them after losing one third of lands to them. I mean I can hold them back and help them take back what was lost... I see no hope in them, so I started my own faction. Ad guess what, they declared war on Zann again(and mine as well of coz!), because they were too powerful now.  :meh: I ask for peace although I am wining against the Drachen, and they wants my money and my land in order for a truce!? I mean look at your situation now, there is no way I will accept that. You are crushed by me and the Zann! Make peace with me and I can help to defeat the Zann, but I guess they are just too dumb to realize this great plan. However, I would say everything is fine until the Valanir Chan declare war against me. I just hate them so much. They own an island and is so good at defending. And capturing Hafen castle is just gonna make it worst. Why there is no door for a castle???? The enemy can match straight through. There is no advantage for the defender at all. And their troops are so good at sieging, they stats and builds are just like the Nords. And ofc, the Valanir Chan leads a 2k army to capture my Julre Castle. The worst part is the siege takes forever, coz it requires a siege tower for them and they engineering is **** (coz they are just a bunch of ugly monkeys who only know how to bash every everything they see with a giant axe while wielding a big ass shied), so I had to either sit inside for a very very long time, or  to pause every few seconds to check whether they started the battle when I travel a round, which is extremely annoying. Not to mention those Drachens keep raiding my villages while I was busying. Finally, I decided to end this madness through this siege battle. I led 330 men, which are all the best of the best, to defend the castle. Combined with the garrison, we have 600 vs 2k. If we win this, we can turn the table around, if we lose, there will be nothing left. When the battle goes on, I know I couldn't win, so I decided to retreat, but guess what, I don't have that option to leave. WHY??? So, I have to watch my men got all slaughtered. And I just feel really bad right now. I got captured, loses all money and companions. Just fxxk the Valanir Chan, fxxk the Drachen, fxxk this.

ps:sry for my poor engrish, im not a native

Heh, I'm on the same path - married to Birgit, vassal of raich yet (250 days, but Zann invasion is postponed to day 350)
Falcons and Geldar are down, Kaikoch nearly. Tolaria is squeezed by Elfs and Maccan by Valahir, Reich fight Drahara (without me they will be done really - before I join then, they were down to 1 town and 1 castle)

so, I playing a ping-pong game right now - Reich took Drahara castle - move war to their territory - Naumak castle (I'm pretty sure name begin with N), hard to take, easy to defend as you need to run around all castle and climb quite high hill to reach walls, good archers make huge looses to attackers...
just take it back again and again for renown mostly, I can't rebel as princess love her father (80 relation) and stuck with them for whale

mind one thing - AI - it is deferent from native, so everyone who's stronger than you will attack you, you need to plan your rebellion very careful - I have 3k troops in my town and 2 castles, most of them are neutral - freelancers, hired troops, perisno soldiers and minor fraction's, like Mosuru or Eagle, Wolfs... etc.

ps. you can always swear the oath to some powerful king - go Falcons

Yup, I underestimated the AI in Perisno, and I paid a high price for it. I am just playing extremely careful now because I may probably lose the entire faction if I make the wrong move again.

What is your "Right to Rule" at?  Established factions don't like "upstarts".  If you don't have high enough Right to Rule, expect to be hit with declarations of war frequently.  Starting your own faction at day 250 sounds a bit early to me, and I doubt you have enough RtR.

As far as fighting the Valahir, heavy cavalry and Archers.  A lot of Valahir units don't have shields.  I would snag some Elintor Archers, and get some of the Hired Archers from the Mercenary Guild, and equip them with the 3-shot Dwarven X-bows.  Valahir Archers are pretty "meh", so you can squeak by with heavily armored infantry weilding 2-handers (of course, getting hit with throwing weapons is an issue).  Personally, my favorite ranged unit in this mod is the Maccavian "Knight of Steel", but you'll have a hard time finding enough of them to be useful if you're not a Maccan lord or using Maccan culture.  I usually mix them with some Hired Archers using Dwarven X-Bows and Bastard Warhammers.  Both of these units are very good at holding their own in melee and can double as infantry, if you give your Hired Archers some good armor.  Supported by Reich heavy cavalry, and you should be able to wipe out an entire 800+ man Valahir army with ~200 troops (better have someone with ~8 to 10 Tactics skill first).  Just form on a hill, F2 -> F4 once for the archers (stand closer), and just let them rain death down on the enemy.  If they get too close, order cavalry to charge.  Once you wipe out, or nearly wipe out the initial attack, pull back your cavalry.  Rinse and repeat until out of arrows, then either retreat and do it again, or just order an all out charge.  =/  Btw, Maccavian Northguards are more than capable to take on Valahir.  They're very heavily armored and most will have Hurlbats to throw at the enemy.  I suggest Maccavian troops, because in my opinion, Maccavian foot units are some of the best in the game, and you can get them in large numbers easily.  Since you're already Reich, you have some of the best heavy cav at your disposal, so supplement them with Maccavian infantry from right next door.  If Maccavia declares war on you, you'll need to throw them into the garrison and go cav heavy against them in open battles (good luck fighting Knights of Steel during a siege, though. lol).

For defensive siege battles, lots of archers and units with fast weapons and short range.  Elintor (or Geldar) archers and Hired Archers work well here, too.  Can grab some Draharan archers as well.  They're not too bad either.  Bastard Warhammer (40 blunt [ blunt is king vs heavily armored units ]; 94 speed, 77 reach) works great here, too.  Bonus vs Shields, and can crush through blocks (overhand swing as often as possible).  Btw, since you have a castle / town holding, you can hire "Household Guard" for 10,000 a piece.  Expensive, but if you can afford them, make them your heavy cav.  If you need to, you can take the horses from your "Hired Knights" troop line for more infantry, or if you want to specialize in two different types of heavy infantry.

If you're looking to restart ...
... then I have 3 good starting suggestions for character creation:  Go for the 10 Looting start (take all thief / bandit options, "money and power (I think)") [ Note: 1 or 2 points in Inventory Management is recommended for this start ], go full warrior, or Riding 8 start (knight, riding, squire, "wanderlust" (I think)).  Start out in any town of your preference, borrow 5,000 from the Moneylenders (up to 20,000 [ 5,000 from 4 different towns ]), and buy some decent starting gear and a mount (you'll get better stuff from looting, you just want some survivability for now).  Check taverns for Shin Jin (free companion, early game trainer), Alindel (your medic, 3,000 or 3,500 hiring - he's worth it), and either Slyter (early looter / pathfinder for 600 or 650), and if you can afford him as well, Fazl (8 in trade skill, excellent for buying / selling prices, but is ~3,000).  Not sure wich one, but either Zaira or Kara - I think Zaira.  Kara is free (so grab her anyway), and Zaira is ~450, but has 4 in foraging.  Uldin is great for looting, too (6 looting) for around ~2,500.  Main goal is Shin Jin, Alindel, Fazl, Slyter, and Zaira.  Run around Tolrania (usually) for a Jousting lance, and Reich towns for a good mace (blunt).  Go to a tavern and hire 30 slaves (450 for 15).  Wait in town for a night or two until Shin Jin trains them up to at least "Glory Seeking Men".  Then head out for Merc Guild and grab how ever many Hired Troops are there.  Slaves will upgrade to Elite Bounty Hunters (specialist troop; the more of them you have, the higher your prisoner management skill until you reach 10, also add Tracking).  Equip your hired troops with blunt weapons and horses, upgrade down cavalry line.  You should be able to pay back all 4 loans by April 20th (I've never come close to missing a deadline on 4).  Keep saving up money and buying land from moneylenders (not production enterprises yet).  Start out smashing Snowcrawlers (Reich areas), and then move on to Volheer Raiders (Arendal is a good area to farm).  I'm not sure how true this is, but from my personal experience, whatever faction's area I hang around in seems to be the one who throws me an invite to swear fealty / become vassal, so hanging out around Arendal might get you an invite from Maccavia or Valahir once you have enough renown.  Either way, just keep smashing raiders and selling them until you own all the land in all major towns in whichever faction you chose to join.  Accompany marshal when they call, try to help allied lords as much as possible (relations), release good natured lords (relation), take prisoner the turds for ransom, agree with the king / queens choices in who deserves what fief and attend all feasts (no more relation bonus past 10, so don't bother afterwards unless you want to).  Gain as much honor as possible! You'll get free relation points with good natured lords for having high honor - even ones you've not met yet!  (releasing lords, don't attack villagers, villages, caravans, look for farmers in tavern [ and refuse reward when you save villages ]).  You get free attribute points from Lords who you have high relations with (free INT also gives free skill points); i.e., you want as many friends as possible to become an OP killing machine.  Don't start betting on yourself in tournaments until you can win at least 2 of them without any problems, and be careful what tournaments you enter (i.e., if you have no archery skill, Elintor tournaments are NOT for you).  Let your heroes choose gear from loot (take what you want / need first).  I only buy enough production enterprises to match my party wages when I can afford it (do these last).  Once you get enough lords to like you enough and you've built up enough renown defeating enemies, you'll start getting more land and castles when your faction captures them.  Just be patient, it'll come eventually.  Also, your first fief IS going to get raided, and sometimes you just have to deal with it unfortunately.  You're going to be playing for ~1 year in game before everything starts falling into place.  Getting married fairly early is a good option, too, if it's to Birgit or Linthradil.  Since they own cities, you can take captured prisoners from the garrison and sell them.  Don't go crazy giving your hired troops the absolute best possible gear for each tier, otherwise you'll have some extremely expensive units - go big on armor, but be reasonable.  Grab "Farmers" and "Refugees" as "Rescued Prisoners"as you go if you need more blunt troops (Farmers upgrade to Elite Bounty Hunters [ Glory Seeking Men path ], and Refugees upgrade to Perisno Priestess (specialist troop WT and FA).  Donate 7,000 Aurums (speak to Village Elder) when you can (free relationsh with village), and complete tasks for them.  High relations with villages will give you a lot of recruits, or even higher level troops when you recruit from them.  Likewise, high relations with towns can get you a lot of Noble Recruits.  This is extremely handy when you need a lot of troops in a pinch (if you've been defeated, or get a captured town / castle and need garrison fodder ASAP - use your constable to auto-upgrade them).

List of Specialist Troopshttp://perisno.wikia.com/wiki/List_of_Specialist_Soldiers

I'm sure others have very good advice, too.  Just ask, or scroll through old forum posts.  Perisno is, by far, my favorite M&B Mod out there.

hired knights are the best unit ypu can have in early stage - give them throwing spears, shields and some bastard weapon (2h/1h), good horse and watch them demolishing everyone on open field

household guards are bit deferent, as you can give them bow or x-bow - crimson bow, bastard weapon and shield/leaf bomb give a massive bonus - mind, you can use them to repeir things (always plain)

Right, but I was talking about later on in the game when he can afford a lot of Household Guards and IF he needed some additional infantry that he could customize himself (i.e., one for guaranteed shield and one for guaranteed 2-hander or polearm).

A few more tips, if you're starting again. Spend some time as mercenary for Elintor, and during that time, hoard their nobles. Besides being great archers, their second tier are also only non-household troops that can boost all your medical skills. And the game becomes much easier if you have effective 14 in those.
Dwarven repeaters FTW, at least for everyone but player and few companions. I find it best to not even bother with hired foot knights, just make your front line from hired sharpshooters. They can wear heavy armour, decently use melee weapon and spam the crossbow bolts that can hurt through shields, unlike bows.

Wow, I did not expect I will receive that much tips and helps, especially RiftZM2003, so detailed! As he mentioned, yes my right to rule is not high actually. Its only 42, maybe thats why everyone is declaring war at me. I don't plan to restart however, because getting defeated is part of the game, and I think this makes the game more exciting too  I just rushed too ahead and were too aggressive for taking too many objectives without sufficient backup to defend them. Now, somehow I managed to hold the enemy force down, since I gathered all my force inside Freising now, which is very easy to defend compared to other city/castle. Anyway, thanks guys

RtR doesn't have and never had any effect on war declarations or peace treaties or any other interfaction diplomatic matters.

Yep, you're right.  I always thought it did.  Apparently it only affects how other lords view you and how likely they are to join you.    :ohdear:

In short, one and a half year ago, I was still green to perisno and nearly got destroyed by the AI. I was so frustrated that I have to post about it on the forum lmao. (Old post link: https://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,377002.msg8981128.html#msg8981128)
And yes today I still play this beautiful piece and suddenly I just want to meme about it lol. So here it is,

lXwqD.jpg

Basically, the left picture is when I got cornered by the Valahir Clan and almost got destroyed. The right one is where I'm at now, 1239 in game days, owning 150 centers and having 57 lords.

Still find it funny of what I post before.
Anyway, have a great day for those who come by and saw this sh*t post of mine lol
