More or less me bragging about a battle i won. Not my best victory but i was still surprised how it turned out. Was raiding a mongol village as a vassal in crusader states when i was intercepted by a mongol lord reinforced with a mongol horde. My army consisted of ALL senior knights and small number of knights Hospitalliar and Templar. (you can imagine my weekly wage for my party alone...20k...omg)

Actually is based on a 1210 circa decoration, so it is indeed pretty old - still (supposition) it may have been used by a lesser or poorer knight, maybe as a family inheritance.

Medieval technology and style progressed somewhat slower than fashion and technology today. Everything was word of mouth and new exotic products were rare to see so styles generally lasted longer.

I don't think it's too far of a stretch to say that a helmet style from 1210 might still be around in 1257
