Ransom broker, ransom companion option

What are the requirements to get this to work? Does it also include family/clan members or as it says, companions only.

I do not think you can ransom your companions, but you have the option to say to them you do not need their services anymore in case you dont want them. Grtz Vaan.

This is the tavern ransom broker, says he can ransom your companions if they are captured. But even when they are in a town dungeon, it doesn't give an option and so you have to wait for them to escape or be released in a peace deal.

Ah ik what you mean. When they are captured by a party you have to wait until you get a ransom offer, when you pay it they will be free. If you dont get a ransom offer you just have to wait until they escape. Grtz Vaan.

I had the same thought about him. Never got it to work either.
If wars lasted longer, or say if some nobles stayed captive during peace to ensure peace.
Since they never stay captive then a few days people just dont need the function.

So it is a broken function? It worked in warband.
