Hi,

This is a simple utility created with CE+LUA which allows you to change the battle size in M&B and Warband.  The main difference between this and Janus' Battle Sizer is this one changes the battle size without touching options.dat and you don't need to restart the game to change it again.

  • To use this utility, you need to start the game first and then run this.
  • You can press ALT+TAB and change the battle size value anytime you want, without even going to options screen.
  • The battle size value can be set to anything between 10 and 1000.
  • The new value will be stored *by the game* when you exit.
  • If you notice three copies of the same process, this is normal.

Please note that although I have tested both of these numerous times and they both work well on my machine, I can't be sure if that'll be the case on yours, hence both versions are released as alpha.

Good stuff. Still i find creating this tool while there is another one a bit of imitated.

There isn't anything similar that I know of. If there is, I'll gladly remove mine out of here. The only tool I know that can change the battle size is the one made by Janus. However there is a fundamental difference between that and this one, as stated in the first post.

I think I see what you did.  You're actually changing the "battle size" variable in the game's RAM.  Why hasn't anyone thought to do that until now?

Too bad this won't work for me; I'm a Linux user.  Linux kernels have a security feature known as, "Address Space Randomization," which randomizes the addresses variables are stored at each time a program loads.  The battle size variable will never be in the same spot twice, so I'll have to find it myself each time I want to change it.  It's no big deal; I can just mess with the slider in the options menu and scan for that value a few times.  Still, thanks for the idea.

Thank you for this but it looks like it doesn´t work for me. Obviously I do something wrong. But what?

Incompatible version of Warband possibly? Not guaranteed to work with versions other than 1.134.

Great idea being able to change the battle size on the fly. Unfortunately, both the links for the original M&B have been deleted and only the RS link remains for Warband - are you able to upload the original again? Cheers.

I myself needed these a minute ago and indeed I could only get the one for WB on rapidshare. I don't have the one for M&B on the machine I'm currently using, but I will upload them again when I have the opportunity.

FYI, just tested the one for WB 1.134 on Win7 and it runs perfectly.
