Laughing at all you people who think steam is bad or don't use it. If you would knew you could simply turn off auto updates and steam is wonderful, they give great sales on holidays and they are running one right now.

As a plus you can use your serial from steam to activate a copy from the taleworlds website, which is neat.
I like companies that use this type of feature, EA does it aswell.

To those who need to reinstall native, if you have steam:

1. Delete native folder
2. Go to your library, right click Warband, hit Properties, then click Verify Game Cache or something like that. It'll check for missing files, and replace them. You'll then have an unmodded Native once it's finished.

I reinstalled the entire game on steam basically so everything was covered in terms of missing files etc...
