In Progress Mount & Blade: Warband launcher not starting

Users who are viewing this thread

When i click play in steam, the .exe runs but the launcher never shows up. It also says im playing it on steam, then the exe closes. It was working just a second ago, this started happening after my game crashed once on a load. I tried all sorts of fixes and nothing worked.
Also I tried:
-Reinstall game
-Verify Game Files
-Delete M&B Warband Roaming folder
-Delete rgl.config
-Uninstall OneDrive

Please help me

I have the same problem. But people tell me it's because of win10pro. I tried everything pls help. I've taken a new computer and downloaded mount and blade warbande on it for the first time, but it doesn't work.

I'm also curious about the fact that Blood and Gold: Caribbean, another TaleWorlds game, seems to work fine on my system. I play here. This makes me wonder if there's something specific to Mount and Blade Warband that's causing these launch issues.

All right, thanks. But is it possible because of win10pro that mount and blade warbande does not work
Absolutely not Win 10 Pro. I run Win 10 pro and it works fine for me.
My daughter's laptop ALSO has Win 10 pro and steam; I installed the Warband from here on her laptop, THEN I installed steam, THEN bought it on Steam (as the Taleworlds checkout seemed to force me to use Steam, despite not having a steam account for her), Steam then installed a SECOND warband at its steam directories and told me my license key.

All I really needed from steam anyway was to sell me a legit license key; I could run Warband already for free in trial mode and never dink with Steam ever for laptop. She is new to gaming anyway; M&B Warband would be her first single player game. Once I answered the Warband query for a license it was licensed at BOTH the initial directory outside Windows program files (x86) AND at Steam's private Warband, thanks to either checking the Windows registry for a validated key. Steam can run Warband, or she can use a desktop shortcut I made to take her to the Warband outside the Windows protected file area (so she could compile my mod and maybe learn to program as a just_graduated_high_school youngster. Warband scripting isn't "real" programming but it has the advantage to being somewhat easy to read for a first time/casual coder).

Your needs may be less but I STRONGLY feel Steam / Windows 10 system file permissions for DOS shell, and not Windows 10 Pro is in the way.
