The following maps are going to be featured as playable maps in the Matador Memorial League (MML):
Note that the maps are going to be featured on the 3 league servers in this exact order, starting by Custom Scene 1 and ending with Custom Scene 16.
1. Fort Tavaron (Made by Marth; From: Gryphonheart - The Books)
Fort Tavaron is located on the very northern shore of the Tavan Peninsula, a magical territory on the Eastern coast of the Continent. Tavaron watches over the meandering ships, keeping a close eye on them. It also serves as a wooden stronghold, which is hard to lay siege at due to its strategic location. (Also it definitely didn’t rip off Warband’s “Dragon’s Nest”.)
2. Biograd Na Moru (Made by Marth; Historical map)
The Croatian town of Biograd Na Moru is located on the Dalmatian coast, serving as a popular tourist attraction of the modern ages. In history, it was first a stronghold of the Byzantine Empire, later captured by the Croatian Slavs. In the 11th century, the castle came under Hungarian rule, all the way until the 16th century, when the rising Ottoman Empire had captured it. Due to its historical background, it mixes the architechture of all these nations, which gives Biograd a style anyone could fall in love with.
3. The Catacombs (Made by Marth; From: Gryphonheart - The Books)
Located under the Necropolis of Nukeno, the vast tunnel system underneath the city leads into this ancient underground fortress built by a race no historians really know about. The unique design of the catacomb system hints to the existence of a high culture precursor race, one which may have existed before humans started to inhabit the Continent.
4. Ash Lake (Made by Marth; From: Dark Souls)
I have played the first game in the Souls series and had successfully gotten through it. I actually raged less at that game than I usually do at WFaS. And there was the map named Ash Lake that really inspired me to create this map of magical beauties. Located underneath the waters of the neverending Ocean, Ash Lake is certainly a place that will bind you to itself for the rest of eternity.
5. Roslin (Made by Marth; From: Gryphonheart - The Books)
The Cathedral-Stronghold of Roslin is located deep in the Highlands of Rieteria. It’s a relatively abandoned place, with only the monks of the order walking underneath the somehow still beautiful columns of this ancient holy place. Yet Roslin houses another secret: It serves as the place where the greatest warrior of Suemia had found his final rest.
6. Ruins (From: Mount&Blade: Warband)
One of the more classical Warband maps, which has never been played before as part of a With Fire and Sword match, until now! It’s opennes makes for some exciting matches and tactical manuevers, so hopefully it will be a fun experience to play on it.
7. Farmer Village (Made by Eismann)
Farmer Village might look like a regular village at first glance, but it has various aspects that make it more than that. The forest area, the ruins and the ships all make this place a spectacle, which allows for some interesting matches in the future.
8. The Chaosseum (Made by Marth; From: Gryphonheart - The Books)
The Chaosseum was raised in the ancient times, when the Lemurian Empire ruled over what later became Ligurensis. The entire building was raised in an era of chaos by a corrupt ruler, to have his own fun by watching slaves die for his entertainment. The Chaosseum now exists as an arena for wargames and chariot races, which is one of the most popular sports of the Ligurians.
9. Countryside Castle (From: Mount&Blade: Warband)
Another classic open Warband map. It will be exciting to see how matches play out on this beautiful map.
10. Nord Town (From: Mount&Blade: Warband)
Probably the most requested to-play-in-WFaS map from Warband. It is a relatively closed map with a resemblance to the Marketplace map in With Fire and Sword, which has always been a fan favourite.
11. Crater Lake City (Made by Marth; From: Gryphonheart - The Books)
The town of Tor Insjo-Kratar (translated as Crater Lake City) is located in southern Grimheim. It was built by wandering Dwarwes inside of the crater of an inactive volcano. The city has been preserved as an independent city for hundreds of years, yet now the warriors of Suemia have entered it to duke it out in a bloody war of clans.
12. Budapest (Made by Marth; Historical map)
The castle of Buda and the town of Pest merged into the current capital of Hungary in 1873. Yet before that, in historical times, the two settlements were still connected. This map shows a miniature version of this glorious city in the 17th century, years after the allied forces re-captured it from the Ottomans, liberating the capital of medieval Hungary once and for all.
13. Mighty Island (Made by MiKe)
MiKe’s first map has literally everything that can be found in the objects menu for the map editor, making this map a fun experience to play on. As a new map, it lies here ready to be tested by the ever stronger WFaS community.
14. Snowy Town (Made by Draco)
One of the very best maps Draco has ever made, and the only snow map the league is going to feature. It bring us the feeling of Winter during these hot Summer days, cooling down our lives, but giving us excitement for the matches to come.
15. Fortified Village (Made by Lord_Spel; From: Armia Koronna Serwer)
One of the few battle maps that Lord Spelukrascht made for WFaS, showcased on AK’s server. It is a map that has always been fun to play on, and now it shall be featured in the MML as a playable map, too!
16. Marketplace Revised (Made by Lord_Spel; From: Armia Koronna Serwer)
Marketplace is probably the most played-on map in With Fire and Sword, it has always been a favourite pick for every clan. Because of this, I have decided to take AK’s version of the map, which has more alleyways and an overall better playability than the regular map, so here it is.
