This is NOT a standalone module, you need to download and install the Single Player Remake Beta II before installing the Beta III Graphical and Historical Update. I'll ask for this to be stickied so it will be easier to keep track of current versions for the players and ask for feedback etc.
=>1812 -1815 Single Player Remake by Vympel

A little FAQ ...

Q-The Beta III, what is it ?
A-It's a big patch which is based on the Single Player Remake of the module called 1812 - 1815, originally released by Poomtang, and improved then released as the remake by Vympel, check the stickied post about the single player remake to see more about it and download the module.

Q-What's different from the Beta II ?
A-Mostly the gameplay won't change, balance hasn't changed much either, or at least it will stay balanced somewhat and won't break the original feel of the module. Also it keeps the diplomacy and pre-battle orders etc, everything that was inside the code of the beta II remake.

Q-So what's different then ?
A-This is a huge graphical update, lot's of uniforms completely replaced by newer/better/tweaked model with higher quality textures, it still keeps standard file sizes so it shouldn't kill your computer. This Beta III corrects lot's of unrealistic/missing/calradic stuff in order to have a module closer to a good napoleonic standalone instead of a mix of calradia and napoleonic era.

Q-Is there russians as advertised in "Russia 1812"?
A-No there is not, because i'm working on the russian expansion which will be part of a bigger module called Europe 1812. I might suggest a beta release of a simple russian expansion featuring 6 factions including russia on a map of central/eastern europe.

Q-How to install it ?
A-Once downloaded it's a simple .zip you'll have to extract directly inside the 1812 Beta II main directory, then it is strongly recommended to start a new game or lot's of bugs will show up within items and troops and so on...

Q-When will this be available for download ?
A-It is ... !

List of various changes and additions (there's even more i couldn't remember ! :p)

***
-Start your legacy in early 1812 !
-Desert and steppe terrain replaced by grassy terrain.
-Desert / steppe map icons for town/castle/village replaced.
-New real names for settlements and villages. Names are used based on an approximate positions on a real map, thus making the ingame map believable somewhat.
-New map icons for Citadel (castle which requires sieges tower to attack), new real names for castles.
-Roads won't appear anymore on the map, game still use the weird navigation when crossing roads though, beware.
-Lot's of medieval/calradic references in the menus have been replaced by more fitting strings (europe instead of calradia, replacement for town name references etc) to give the module a more realistic and coherent feel.
-recruitment for british troops is now fixed, no more rhodok recruits etc.
-castle/prison guards for all faction are now re-equiped with fitting weapons and uniforms, no more vaegir guards etc.

-items are factionnal save for leg armor, some weapons etc.
-items are less likely to have quality flags because it's not realistic to have a reinforced uniform unless it's a cuirassier armor...
-items for elite/officers are less likely to appear in marketplace, so you'll have to take your time to become an old guard officer...
-items names are replaced with standard looking names using maj etc, items names are as simple as possible and reflect their historical origin. ("7th musketeer kollet" instead of "prussian musketeer uniform").
-new shako models for france, prussia and czapka for polish vistula legion.
-new uniform for mercenary polish lancers to separate them from napoleon's polish guard lancers, pattern is vistula legion 1812.
-added the 2nd musketeer for prussia, ai will field the 7th musketeer as an elite corps and they are available on the last troop tree stages for the player.
-added the 2nd uhlan litewka (short coat) as a replacement for the kollet (jacket), many prussian regiments still mostly used the litewka instead of kollets in 1812 and 1815.
-a new "shako hair" attached to some of the new shakos, it has a believable shape to match the 19c.
-troop face code altered to show difference between experienced fighters and recruits/common soldiers.
-new strap belts for backpacks, ammo pouch/short saber, it is rigged to follow the body thus preventing clipping with the wearer during some animations.
-added the british royal horse guards with sergeant, corporal and trooper uniforms, as well as their horse saddles.
-new models and skins for british riflemen and added kgl light infantry 1st bataillon for both line and light companies.
-only the 95th rifle uses the baker rifle now, kgl light company is now using carbines not rifles.
-stuff for 95th rifle will be over rhodoks and nord territory, kgl light infantry over khergit territory to make it easier to find.
-when possible troops will use trooper and corporal uniforms only, thus saving the sergeant/officer uniforms for players.
-replaced the 43rd light infantry by the 52nd light infantry with a new uniform for troopers.
-replaced the already present 52nd by the 51st King's Own Light Infantry with uniforms for trooper and corporal (check britain preview to see the uniforms).
-added corresponding shako insignia for british 52nd and 51st light infantry.
-added the 2nd foot guard regiment "Coldstream", uniform is finished, with corporal and sergeant variants.
-added the 1st footguard regiment uniforms for trooper corporal and sergeants.
-replaced the british 2nd and 8th regiment already present by the 4th infantry featuring line, grenadier, and light companies.
-new belgic shako with accurate rope/plume to match colors from line, grenadier and light companies and their british cockade.
-added an updated model for the 42nd highlander, trooper, corporal, sergeant and officer included (grenadier company).
-42nd highlander have a full roster from troopers to flag bearers, staff sergeant and officers, so the player can make an entire bataillon out of highlanders, for example, as his army.
-added a new boots model and texture for prussian or officers, black leather and deep folds.

-Prussia is now the "Lower Rhine Army" which will be written in german.
-France is now the "Empire de France" for swadia, and the Armée du Nord for vaegir.
-Britain is now the British 1st Bataillon over khergit, the 2nd Bataillon over nords and the british army reserve over rhodoks.
-Britain no longer have "emirs" or "noyan", realistic and accurate names granted to all british officers.

-swadia is led by Napoleon, vaegir by Michel Ney.
-prussia is led by Gebhard von Blucher (no changes there).
-britain "1" (khergit) is led by Arthur Wellesley. no changes for the other two, as i'm lacking information.

-swadia will field old guard, young guard and guard cavalry troop, vaegir will field troops of the line. Some troop in common too.
-prussia now have access to the 10th, 7th, 25th, 30th infantry regiments along with other troops (cavalry etc).
-britain now have more troops from the KGL, light dragoons, infantry, light infantry which will be mainly in central belgium (khergit).
-Player can now recruit every troop available save for some special entries which is for AI only (prevents them from using upgradable troops thus making armies unbalanced)

-mercenaries are now mostly to hire in taverns as you won't cross path with hundreds of them as hostile parties.
-new outlaws equipement and reinforcements, military deserters, civilian looters/bandits etc instead of high level mercenaries.
-units tagged as dragoon will not be able to shoot on horseback.
-units tagged as heavy cavalry (cuirassier, lifeguards etc) will no longer have multiple swords/horse selection.
-horses health reduced to more realistic values to make it easier to survive cavalry charge for infantry.
-horses charges damage values tweaked based on the troop category (heavy cavalry = high damage, hussar = low damage).
-normalized infantry equipment, muskets only for infantry, musket + short saber for some elite and sharpshooters etc.
-companions now have a realistic names, there is 6 french companions, 4 prussians and 6 british. This can be changed however.
-companions are now high level veteran with a specialization (medic, trainer, tactician etc).

It seems crash to desktop when going in city street is random for me, somtimes its uxkhal and suno, somtimes it's praven ... I don't know how to fix that, i hope vympel knows more.

The update as you can understand, will not be savegame compatible, because changes have been made to the map icons, lords names and some old items will disappear or have missing texture/models. I garanty it's worth a new game though ^^ !

Known Bugs: Mostly the same as in the previous Beta, since code is not based on latest patch there is some issues here and there, but nothing serious.
However, there is a game-breaking issue which is probably caused by graphic or dynamic memory usage: beware if you try to walk the streets of towns or villages, after a few minutes of playing lots of town and some villages will tend to crash if you try to wander the streets without any particular mission.
Nothing wrong though with taverns, merchants etc, and you can meet the guildmaster through menu, not just by entering the towns.
It's not a bug, but scenes are the same as native, same goes for desert battlefields, it won't be desert ground, but there won't be any kind of grass rocks or trees except for a few exception which already exists, oh and i couldn't replace the palm trees yet :p !

Some screens might have older versions of models/textures, don't worry about it. Most of the previews are updated and i will add more if needed.

Credits:
Credits goes for everyone who made the Single Player remake possible, which means, poomtang vympel and the rest of the team. Many thanks to the people supporting the mod who contributed to find or correct historical stuff, gamplay issues or game-breaking bugs.
As for me i'm just making textures originally, still it's true i did a lot to try and improve the thing and had to make some models and most of the .txt changes/tweaks/fix by myself. And now i have enough to make it a complete update pack so here it is !

you must copy all the files inside the folder 1812 beta III into /warband/module/1812. If nothing goes wrong you'll see the changes. I'll make a link with the entire module later. For now let's just use it as a "patch".

Edit: if it's still confusing, you must overwrite the files from your 1812 module with mine, (module.ini and text files etc and the two folders textures and resources which are inside the Beta III.zip). Just overwrite the files and it will work fine.

So I played the BETA III for a bit today, first impressions.. WOW! Great work, everything looks awesome. I'll get more of chance to play later tonight, thank you for your work.

Phew i'm glad it works, i was a bit anxious there would be complications within the release, but this is reassuring  ! Hope you'll enjoy it as much as i enjoyed improving and testing it, this changes the game experience completely.

I also got rid of the original M&B Warband logo, it simply doesn't match the new loading screens ^^ !

Yes when you try to enter the city streets some might crash to desktop, this is probably caused by memory/graphic memory errors, try not to wander into cities too often if there's no need.

You can access the guildmaster by choosing to meet him upon city menu, not just by entering city streets scenes.

There's also some villages that might crash, it's not uncommon, but if you don't enter villages you don't have missions with, it should work fine. Same for cities, avoid going into the streets just to wander around to prevents the crash to desktop. Use the menus to interact with settlements, castles works fine usually though, otherwise, just use the menus.

Okay, so after choosing character background, before it could arrive at character customization, it locked on a black screen and stayed there. No error messages, nothing in my log. I'll pile through the code, but I'm thinking you've overwritten or deleted the command to continue. Either that or something broke.

You must not choose to start as a nobleman or it will crash at the banner selection screen. You will become a noble later on and will be able to pick a banner without issues.

This looks really nice guys, great job.
But I'm just wondering if it will work for patch 1.53?

I have warband on steam ver 1.153 and it works fine. It's just that some coding is not based on the latest patch so there's a few error msg sometimes, and errors on info logs etc.

but.. what about the merchant mission?

Mission scenes works fine, only normal city streets and some villages might crash if you enter it without a mission active. Sieges are working too no problems there.

Missions scenes like the ambuh at game start or like the assassination mission given by lords to kill/intimidate a local merchant are working. It's just the normal scenes with normal villagers that might crash, i don't know about the spying mission however.

This is a drawback sure, but this module is more intended to be played as a military commander who'll fight bandits, deserters and eventually join faction wars, conquests etc.

You can play as a female merchant if you wan't, and do common quest with no military objectives, but i honestly don't see the point of playing a napoleonic warfare module as a neutral commoner who sells dried meat across the land ... Still it's the players choice i guess ^^ !

And selling bazookas and RPGs for proper use ( proper use <<clicky )

Hi Agovic, have you tried the beta III yet ?

I'm already working on further improvements for this module, french will have unique and better backpack models with smoother textures, some uniform models will be merged with pants, (to show the entire uniform in marketplaces), along with proper folds effects etc.

There is a new model for old guard/young guards soldiers, as well as variants for cavalry, it's already used in the Beta III but there's not all the replacements i now have available with their correct textures.

Anyways, i'm doing a lot of things to prepare the arrival of russians into the war, so i might as well continue with what i was doing before working on russians.

I'm stunned by the level of detail put into this beta release, it almost looks like you've taken the models from NW and pasted them here(not accusing you of stealing of course).
