maces

I don't know the calculation for bludgeoning damage versus armor but in my unqualified opinion it doesn't seem to measure up to the raw damage of axes and swords. Anyway here's a poll, and if you don't mind stating your reasons and how you would change it if you vote no I'd really appreciate it.

I'm trying to have fun with a dumb playthrough idea of using only companions/family members and no regular troops. I'm equipping them all with one handed weapons and we all fight on foot, just for the sake of trying something different. I leveled my smithing to try out different custom weapons...

Maces in the game are very inadequate. There is not enough variety especially with two handed maces. There are not enough crafting parts especially with two handed maces. One handed maces could use more reach most of them are barely 80 or 90 reach. This makes it hard to connect blows to units on...

So axes deal bonus damage vs shields. Cool. I like that. But if you do that, maces need to do bonus damage vs armor. I'm not sure how you would code that, as armor doesn't have separate HP the way shields do, but in particular since maces and other blunt weapons lack the length of spears...
