Do pistols, carbines and long guns diffrent falloffs?
It seems my riflemen mercenaries start shooting at a greater distance then my dragoon-armed cavalry.
Swedish reiter that use pistols also engage at shorter range.
A good game should reward effort.
With caravans it is no effort.
You fight your ass off to get a fief.
But you get just a token money off it.
All other goods than velvet and spice are useless.
At least the non-consumables.
You'd want a system that gives you choices.
I want to fight for my gold.
I want to do a lot of researching and planning to get a good economy game. (trading/caravans).
I want to get that king and ransom him for a fortune. (not a petty 4k or something). (1/25th of a velvet run?)
As implemented right now the trading system makes all other venues useless in terms of gaining wealth.
Of course you can grind up your moneis. Have enough to last a lifetime. And just do the combat part.
But why have money in the game then?
Why spend money on additions for you castles?
Why have different kind of armour on your mercs?
The game becomes shallow.
Suggestions for quick fixes:
Prices fluctuate more. (maybe time to get a caravan from A->B by first checking prices in B)
Rising and lowering on prices based on trade change much more.
No possibility to sell an item to the goods vendor to force a caravan with that good.
I agree it is like a cheat and thus boring.
Taxes from fiefs become ignorable because they are not even worth pennies compared to what you get from a caravan.
Well. If this acctually is regarded as a warband expansion it pretty much sucks.
Thing is I had high expectations on Taleworlds because of what they have done in the past.

I got curassiers too.
Dragoons, scots and all sorts of types.
Except the reteirs cannot be recruited despite me being able to hire them in the interface.
They never show up anywhere.
I try to recruit swedish reiter at my commander.
I never get them.
I get all other kinds of units but not the reiters.
I've waited a long time.
Gone back.
Checked garrison.
Anybody else have similar issues or ideas of what I may be missing?
I think I am one of those that see this as the next version of mount and blade and not a mod sideways.
To me it seems I cannot go back to warband cause it is obsoleted by this.
There's a quest from a lady where you can duel someone for her honor.
Not sure how often you get it though.
And you start on horseack with all your gear.
So not really a good duel.
Real physics and with simulation of different materials penetrating or blunting arteries, lungs, bones, muscles, tendons, eyes, brain, guts, liver.
And of course layers of armour and their holes.
So you can have 20 games.
One of them you get major screwup with. (Or you screwup with)
Steam blocks all your games.
If you buy them from different vendors there is no single authority to shut you down.
And with M&B (and many other games) without their drm there is no issue with steam as you get a key and the game is downloadable from taleworlds.
I highly doubt taleworlds would revoke a key because of some crap that happened with another game on steam.
You can never ever buy a game.
You buy a license or some sort of a title to it (or part therof).
Even if you buy the title to the source and everything in it you are not buying the game.
You are buying the title. (which you might argue is the same as buying the game in the first place)
