    Sergeant or Serjeant?

In the British Army they were indeed referred to as "Serjeants" until 1953.

Any ancestors who served in the Napoleonic wars?

Hey my grandfather has some ol' weapons too!

    Germanic flintlock rifle
    Enfield 1853
And two Colt 1860s. A Union model and a Confederate one.

And loads of lead. And powder

Any ancestors who served in the Napoleonic wars?

I don't know about the Napoleonic Wars, but six of my ancestors fought in the Great War, four of them died. During the Second World War my grandmother's uncle went to Russia as part of the "Armir" (Italian Army in Russia). He was reported as "Missing in action".

Also, the first Italian to die in Russia during WW2 apparently was an ancestor of mine (We share the same surname).

Lieutenant Pilot Mario Longoni, died in 1941.

Mario Longoni, Lieutenant Pilot of 362th Fighter Squadron, Silver Medal of Military Valor.
The 27th of August with his 22nd group he engages in a duel with enemy fighters. The Italians shoot down six two engined "Tupolevs" and two Polikarpov fighters. The next day, however, Mario Longoni is hit by an AAA round.

In-game it's the presumably even less correct 'Sachsischen Husar'. I should probably have a German speaker go over the troop names one of these days. And a Russian speaker. And an Italian speaker, and so forth. My lingual abillities extend only to (admittedly poor) English, basic Old Icelandic (for which I shall surely not find any use) and very rough French.

When the time comes, I'd love to help tidy up the Russian unit names for you. We can pick a style of transliteration or Anglicization and we'll hammer out any inconsistencies.

And I volounteer for the Italians!
