I don't know about the Napoleonic Wars, but six of my ancestors fought in the Great War, four of them died. During the Second World War my grandmother's uncle went to Russia as part of the "Armir" (Italian Army in Russia). He was reported as "Missing in action".
Also, the first Italian to die in Russia during WW2 apparently was an ancestor of mine (We share the same surname).
Lieutenant Pilot Mario Longoni, died in 1941.
