    Bazen birçok mekanigi de kapsayabilecek sekilde, mevcutu bozup yeniden tasarlamak; erken erisimde ve geliştirilmeye devam edilen bir oyun icin doğal bir durum degil midir? Kaldiki yillardir öğrenerek gelistiren ve daha iyiyi aramis bir firma icin bu daha da tabii degil mi? Çabaya degiyorsa, mekanikler kapsamli sekilde guncellenmek istenebilir. Haksız mıyım?
    Sahsi fikrim belli bir gelistirme asamasina gelmis Open-world & Sandbox oyunlar icin refactoring veya redesign kolay olmuyor. Campaign Map i non-linear ve non-rulebased gelistirmeye calisiyorlar. Dogru ve eglenceli olani da bu (bkz: kenshi) fakat beraberinde bir suru zorluk getiriyor. Su an campaign map pamuk ipligine bagli yasamini surduruyor. Ufak bir parametrik deger degisikliginin etkisi 15-20 oyun yili sonunda ortaya cikabiliyor. Debug ve testin zorlugunu hayal bile edemiyorum.

    Oyunu tam bir yildir oynamadim ama yorumlardan gordugum kadariyla, army starvation, lord recruiting vb olaylar non-linear yapidan dolayi oyuncular icin sinir bozucu bir hal almis. Tepkiler artinca da, hic istememelerine ragmen, tahminimce koda kurallar ekleyip hibrit modele donmeye basladilar. Bu sefer de elinde yari linear yari non-linear unmaintainable campaign map kodu olmus oluyor. AI cheat de cabasi. Biz de 3090 FE ile Prophesy of Pendor oynamaya devam. :sad:

    Iyi bir iletisim olsa butun bu sorunlari goz ardi edecek bir oyuncu kitleleri var. Yani bir dev diary veya dev blog yayinlamak cok zor olmasa gerek.

  2. Bannerlord was a grift

    As a Turkish software developer (not a game a dev) who lives and works in United States, I can say that the numbers shared in first post are pretty much accurate but I don't think Bannerlord is/was a grift or scam. With that being said and as @mexxico stated, being a developer in Turkey is not easy task especially comparing to United States.

    I still want to list my possible reasons for slow delivery.
    • Campaign code is a mess and refactoring didn't help.
    • They have been trying to develop an open-world game with minimal rule based decisions but this increased the complexity of campaign code and adding new or maintaining existing features have become a nightmare. Even small constant value changes can break the game flow and cause issues like snowballing. Ironically snowballing is happening in their code base.
    • Most of their engineers and artists are individually talented but the communication, coordination and team work are lacking. They probably failed to follow most basic Software Engineering Principles.
      • They probably don't have an automated pipeline.
      • Either codes are not reviewed by Principal Engineers / Team Leaders or everyone can push the code to the master branch.
    • I know that they do a lot of testing but we can still see basic bugs with initial patch deliveries.

    It can be similar to crusader kings 3 calculations. They took terrain and counter troops into consideration and it is not that complex but is nice and effective.

    Imo passive xp should be gain for tier 1,2,3. After tier 3 no more passive xp should be applied and xp must be earned through battles. Also the amount for passive xp may be depend on how many top tier troops you have in your army. The more top tier troops you have means faster transition from tier 0 to tier 3. This way we do not have to fight with looters with elite units.
  7. Did something change with how often Kingdoms declare war on yours

    For some reason they removed peace treaty and imo this will destroy all the benefits from 1.4.1

    Snowballing is the only thing which can make Bannerlord unplayable.

    14 days from a fresh start and western empire is war with 4 major factions.

    Guys, are you really think that there are a lot of very skilled, talented or experienced game developers working in this company. I swear the god, almost all of their employers learning game development after they started working there. These are not my opinions, the founder of this company already have confessed that in some of the his interview. As a Turkish, i can easly say that i know most of the their employers profile and almost all of them spending their time on youtube videos to learn gameing. Most of the employers have zero knowhow. I bet, if m&b mod community can organise themselfs, probably this game only takes just a couple of year instead of ten years. And if you wanna know how professional they are, pls check that their open positions from their main websites. When you skim over some of the big or medium scaled video game companys website, you can see that very specficed open positions like enviroment designer, Ai specialist, physic engine specialist, UI designer or art designer. Please after read this, check that their open positions or position :smile: They are only looking for a computer engineer. This is their professionalty unforcunutelly

    Well, I am also a software developer in one of largest tech company in turkey. The problem is Turkey doesn't have that much game developers. Most of new tw employees are their interns who are graduated from best universities (ODTU & Bilkent) in Turkey. It is a natural process to learn something while you are working on it.

    Let's be honest. This is not a easy game to develop. They are trying to build an open world game with least amount of ai cheat. This brings a lot of complexity. The problem is tw is stuck somewhere between an indie startup company and a big game development company. I am sure they are putting lots of effort but not just into correct areas.

    By the way, fixing perks one by one is a bad idea for save game compatibility.

    Then you bring up modders? Who haven't even built the engine or anything, who most of the time are only changing text and swapping parts around? Yea, they must be the real creators and MVPs here... :roll:

    Did you ever play prophesy of pendor? It is more polished than original warband.

    I want all factions alive until I level up my desired skills to ai lord level or top tier troops level (200+). Either make leveling easy or prevent snowballing. none of the factions should get destroyed without player interaction. And please make leveling easy. with my army killing enemy troops I cannot level up my fighting skills.

    Nice post but it is too short. It would be better with more technical details. Check out factorio friday facts for an example.
