  1. How to build churches/temples?

    So I've been trying out this mod but I cannot find any information about this anywhere. How do I build a church/temple to convert a region? I've found a lot of sources on how to convert saying you need to build a church/temple but so far none about how to build them, so I decided to ask directly...

    Sorry for the delay guys!

    It seems I finally came across the solution! It was in a long-forgotten thread of another mod that I happened to find through google.

    Actually I'd like to suggest that it should become a sticky as it does the trick perfectly and it seems that I'm not the only one around who came across this kind of problem without a way to solve it.

    In my case, I use Windows 7 32-bit with 4 GB of RAM.

    Without doing the memory fix and VM fix it seems that what happened is that the game crashed whenever the memory usage got higher than 2GB (which is not hard for Warband running a heavier mod, and which explains crashes getting worse with bigger battles as well).

    I hope this will help more people as it did to me! Now I run it with no trouble whatsoever, as perfect as native!


    By the way, a few minor bugs that I'd also like to point out (not crippling but noticeable) happen in the goring system. Sometimes when you face a really tough foe with lots of HP (like heavy infantry) it can happen that you do massive damage and the guy still survives. The thing is: If you did that massive damage with a strong blow to the head the head will blow up! But the guy is still alive! So, you will heave the legendary headless knight fighting on the field! While this is really badass it doesn't really contribute to realism that much :razz: so I thought I should point out.

    There are also a few minor bugs with textures (like the pictish female warriors, the idea of putting the body as clothes was a smart one but the problem is that the colour of the torso differs from the rest of the skin and you can notice the effect quite a lot).

    Apart from those minor bugs, not much more to point out I think.

    Hi there!

    First of all congratulations on such a brilliant concept for a mod and your work on making it happen. So far this is one of the most appealing mods I've seen for Warband and manages to create quite a nice, immersive and credible atmosphere. Congratulations on your work!

    Unfortunately, for some reason I've been having more and more problems and crashes playing the mod. Since this only happens in Brytenwalda and not other mods or native Warband, I decided that I should post it here.

    At the beginning things were still quite ok. There were quite some crashes and the game would crash to Windows around every 2/3 battles, mostly at the end of the battle, after looting. Or sometimes when loading a game, or even saving (not as often).
    But it was still quite playable and no major problems. Sometimes I'd crash to Windows and have to restart the game every 2 or 3 battles, but it was still enjoyable and playable enough.

    The real problem has been lately, I don't know why but it keeps getting worse and worse. Now pretty much every battle it crashes, not only at the end of a battle but many times during as well. And it gets to a point where it gets quite unplayable because I end up doing the same battle 6 or 7 times and I can't finish it because it always crashes in the middle. Then I decide not to do that battle and the same happens in another one.

    I don't know if it's just me who came across such frequent crashes or if the latest version of Brytenwalda is known to crash that often. But I'd like to at least report it and maybe get to know if there's something (a fix, a configuration change, etc.) that can be done to at least diminish the effect. It really is a pity since I've been loving to play this mod and since I found Brytenwalda I've actually been playing it more often than any other game and I must admit I can't get enough of it. But sadly it really came to a point where I can't play it anymore since not being able to finish most battles makes me mostly unable to progress in the game. It's also strange that it didn't happen that often in the beginning. Maybe it has to do with army size, but it's also strange since sometimes it only crashed after the battle, or when loading the game.

    Both M&B and Brytenwalda were well installed so I don't think the problem should be on that matter. Below I will be leaving the content of the rgl_log file after the crash (it was one of the times that it crashed during the battle)

    EDIT: Some more info: sometimes it lags a lot just before it crashes... like freezing for a few seconds and then after 1/2 seconds doing it again... and again... and it eventually crashes. But just some times, most of the times it just crashes.

    And I've also got a rgl_log from one of the times it crashed while loading (the other was when it crashed during battle). I'm posting it below:
