Not necessarily. They could keep nobles fairly rare by only having one notable offering troops in each castle, and even then, they wouldn't have to always have nobles available. They could work just like the current powerful notables, where half the time they just have normal troops. It would just be like relocating those notables to the castle

Leadership 150 my friend. My castles are garrisoned by Fian Champions.
Yes, I do this nearly every time. However:
1) Leveling leadership is really slow
2) Used to be at 125 and they moved it to 150, just to cause pain?
3) It's impossible to do unless you are a vassal and can call an army. Meaning this path severely constricts my role play choices. What if I don't want to be a vassal?

I would be a lot more okay with this is if one could call companions to armies even when not a vassal, and/or level leadership in other ways.

Don't really agree here, even if there are most 3 Noble-producing notables in a castle they still need the right power level and reputation, plus with Pillaging being used by the AI - they'll like torch down other Culture's castles and deplete that.

The Devs want to include this to add more utility since I highly doubt we'll get ZOCs, additionally, it is meant more to help Empire's cav ratio and Battanian archer ratio.

Disagree. It's already a pain in the behind enough to recruit noble troops. The are fun to use and add to the lore of each kingdom, and restricting them behind castles would preclude many roleplay possibilities. There are other ways to make castles matter such as zones of control, etc.
Perhaps it would open up new roleplay possibilites as well?

Cool. It's still pretty bad though. And after this year of EA, with the silence from TW and their complete lack of vision for this game, I have no expectation the game will ever be good.
Well, it's not complete silence, a few of them are replying daily on this forum, however their pace of making updates is very slow.

How does going to a castle to recruit noble troops affect your roleplay any more than going to a village to recruit them?

If don't want to be part of a faction then I can't go to their castles and can't get their troops. It would restrict my gameplay unnecessarily

It would be less of a problem if there were better/faster ways to level leadership to get the perk to convert bandit troops. But as it is right now it faces the same issue, unless you are part of a faction and commanding armies you can't level leadership, and even then it's really slow.

I'm pretty sure you can visit any castle as long as your not at war with the faction or are on bad terms with its owner

I thought you couldn't unless you had positive relation and/or part of the faction. Maybe I'm wrong? If one could feely visit non-enemy castles and recruit noble troops I would feel a lot better about this proposal.

Maybe I'm the one who's wrong, actually. Its not like I visit neutral castles often. There's not much reason to. Even so, there's no reason why you shouldn't be able to visit and at least get the main screen where you cantalk to a notable, even if they don't want to let you enter the place with your army.

One problem I can imagine with this is that there needs to be new quests for the new castle notables.

But those quests could be simple in nature, for example:
-Raid enemy village.
-Protect peasant party. (Similar to protect caravan only lower pay since you just escort a villager party from their village to the market.)
-Hunt deserters.
-Defeat an enemy party.
Just some examples.

Another way castles could be more useful is if they generated defensive scout patrols that searched the surrounding area for bandits/enemy armies.
The Improved Garrisons mod does this and it is awesome.

I recall in Warband your garrisons would help if you fought battles near your castles but this doesn't happen in Bannerlord. It's a bummer.
