Note : If any of the admins; regardless who she/he is, thinks that with the addition of this topic, it might be a bit too much, he has of course the full attitude to delete it. I do think that the more, the better, but I can understand that you also try to prevent spamming and flooding. If the problem is more that I'm maybe doing (a bit?) too much and that you would like another person to run it to garuantee diversity within the self claimed "analysts", than I would be more than happy to let this person handle the thread and to give him/her the codes. I'm doing it only because no one came up with the idea, but it doesn't mean I'm the only one capable of doing so, far from it. Moroever I'm planning on creating an index as Aerowen suggested it with Robin; so we have one topic for all the previews. With this one, that should make 3 only which look reasonable to my eyes, atleast.

The first week is over for Group A and here are the results. The first confrontation bewteen BeNe & Netherlands and Czechoslovakia went as anyone would have expected and BeNe had more or less no problem to crush the new team, despite the confidence they tried to show before the match. BeNe proved that they're well ready, and deserve the Top4 Ranking they have been placed in. Atleast for now.
The second match wasn't as one sided and despite a phenomal performance from France straight at the begining, taking an early 6-0 rounds lead, Sweden managed to pull it back winning 5 rounds on the open map. Sadly it wasn't enough and France eventually won the match showing that despite some criticsm, the frenchmen are not planning on playing a minor role in this Nation Cup.

North America and Finland had the great honor to open this Nation Cup on Saturday and the least we can say is that this match hold on to the expectations. NA started on a very strong Rhodok side and when they took the first round on the Nord side, many would have think they had got the upper hand on Finland. But that would have been a deadly mistake thinking the fins were out of the competition already and they closed the first map on a very convincing 3-4, where many would have give the North American team a clear advantage. Second map went back and forth and saw both teams unable to be decisive enough to take the win. Consequently they will be sharing the points for the first week.
On the other hand, Turkey confirmed their status of favorite even though they hadn't quite the easy match many would have expected. Austria & Switzerland fought the best they could but felt short when coming to make Turkey worried. Those 5 rounds still demonstrate that they're not willing to give a free win to any of the Group B teams, something which might make it interesting to see for their next confrontation, versus North America.

Many were waiting to see the first performance of the last champion, Poland, and against a very new Irish team, the poles didn't make any mistakes. If they ended up giving Kiano and his boys two rounds, it's simply because those fought hard for it. Poland is looking really strong as usual and aiming for nothing less than the 1st place finish.
However, they might want to take a look at UK's last match. Not content with taking the victory, they also crushed a very weak looking spannish team without conceding a round and confirm the good form they have been showing during practice matchs. It is for sure that the United Kingdom is willing to context Poland's supremacy, and their next step to confirm this good period will be versus Ireland.

No problem whatsoever for Germany who won quite convincingly versus Yugoslavia 12-2. The germans proved that they're still a team to be fear and definetly a potential title contender for the top teams. We'll need to some more matchs from Yugoslavia though to really get a clear idea of what they're capable, as for many teams.
Not so easy though for the controversial coalition Russia & Ukraine who, even though winning versus another coalition, nordic this time, found themselves in some difficulties, where no many would have guessed so. They finish their match on a 9-5 scoreline, the closest match after the draw between NA and Finland. The russians will have to demonstrate a lot more if they intend to place themselves as a possible competitor for the title.
