I do think that the more, the better, but I can understand that you also try to prevent spamming and flooding. If the problem is more that I'm maybe doing (a bit?) too much and that you would like another person to run it to garuantee diversity within the self claimed "analysts", than I would be more than happy to let this person handle the thread and to give him/her the codes. I'm doing it only because no one came up with the idea, but it doesn't mean I'm the only one capable of doing so, far from it. Moroever I'm planning on creating an index as Aerowen suggested it with Robin; so we have one topic for all the previews. With this one, that should make 3 only which look reasonable to my eyes, atleast.

The first week is over for Group A and here are the results. The first confrontation bewteen BeNe & Netherlands and Czechoslovakia went as anyone would have expected and BeNe had more or less no problem to crush the new team, despite the confidence they tried to show before the match. BeNe proved that they're well ready, and deserve the Top4 Ranking they have been placed in. Atleast for now.

The second match wasn't as one sided and despite a phenomal performance from France straight at the begining, taking an early 6-0 rounds lead, Sweden managed to pull it back winning 5 rounds on the open map. Sadly it wasn't enough and France eventually won the match showing that despite some criticsm, the frenchmen are not planning on playing a minor role in this Nation Cup.

North America and Finland had the great honor to open this Nation Cup on Saturday and the least we can say is that this match hold on to the expectations. NA started on a very strong Rhodok side and when they took the first round on the Nord side, many would have think they had got the upper hand on Finland. But that would have been a deadly mistake thinking the fins were out of the competition already and they closed the first map on a very convincing 3-4, where many would have give the North American team a clear advantage. Second map went back and forth and saw both teams unable to be decisive enough to take the win. Consequently they will be sharing the points for the first week.

On the other hand, Turkey confirmed their status of favorite even though they hadn't quite the easy match many would have expected. Austria & Switzerland fought the best they could but felt short when coming to make Turkey worried. Those 5 rounds still demonstrate that they're not willing to give a free win to any of the Group B teams, something which might make it interesting to see for their next confrontation, versus North America.

Many were waiting to see the first performance of the last champion, Poland, and against a very new Irish team, the poles didn't make any mistakes. If they ended up giving Kiano and his boys two rounds, it's simply because those fought hard for it. Poland is looking really strong as usual and aiming for nothing less than the 1st place finish.

However, they might want to take a look at UK's last match. Not content with taking the victory, they also crushed a very weak looking spannish team without conceding a round and confirm the good form they have been showing during practice matchs. It is for sure that the United Kingdom is willing to context Poland's supremacy, and their next step to confirm this good period will be versus Ireland.

No problem whatsoever for Germany who won quite convincingly versus Yugoslavia 12-2. The germans proved that they're still a team to be fear and definetly a potential title contender for the top teams. We'll need to some more matchs from Yugoslavia though to really get a clear idea of what they're capable, as for many teams.

Not so easy though for the controversial coalition Russia & Ukraine who, even though winning versus another coalition, nordic this time, found themselves in some difficulties, where no many would have guessed so. They finish their match on a 9-5 scoreline, the closest match after the draw between NA and Finland. The russians will have to demonstrate a lot more if they intend to place themselves as a possible competitor for the title.

During the second week, BeNe and France confirmed their good form, stomping respectively Sweden and Czechoslovakia , 12-2 and 12-1. No big surprise that those two would qualify themselves, the real interest remaining in who would take the first place.

And the least which can be say is that they didn't disappointed. In one of the most intense match of this last group stage week, BeNe and France shared the points as none of them could take a decisive advantage on their opponent. France started once again extremly strong on the first map, Fort of Honour, finishing on a 6-2 score line but BeNe found in them the necessary strengh to perform an amazing comeback and close Castellum 8-8 and giving lots of regret to the french players, forced to take the 2nd place of the group to the rounds difference in favor of BeNe.

Even though this match had a bit less of hype due to those two teams pratically being eliminated of the NC, Sweden had more or less no problem taking the win over Czechoslovakia, 12-0 showing that there was still a huge gap between the 3rd and 4th of this group.

One of the most amazing upset of this Nation Cup was Finland dominating Turkey 12-3 during the second week and taking the well deserved first place of the Group B. The fins showed more than a convincing performance lead by commander Sotamursu, and sent Turkey packing. Due to North America winning over Austria&Switzerland 10-3, everything remained possible in Group B.

Turkay and North America had consequently their faith in hands for the last match of this group and it was once again a hell of a battle which finally saw Turkey taking the upper hand on North America 10-5. Finland confirmed their statut of leader, winning 12-0 versus Austria&Switzerlands.

As for group A, nobody really expected anything surprising from this group during the second week unless showing the massive gap between the top top and two bottom teams. United Kingdom crushed Ireland 12-0, the exact same score line than Poland versus Spain.

And once again, the confrontation between those two giants held on to the expectations. UK had quite a convincing start taking two quick rounds back to back but eventually felt short closing the side on a positive note. On the second side, Poland didn't give them the same opportunities to exploit and stomped UK on their weak side 3-0, finishing the first map on a large 6-2 advantage. But if there something that this edition of the NC learnt us, is that kicking things off on the first map doesn't automatically grant you the match. With such a statement in minds, UK started an amazing come back which saw them getting back 7-5 at the end of the first side of Castellum and taking the first round on the second one. Unfortunatly for them, Poland proved everyone why they were the only Nation to have win the Nation Cup twice and crushed UK's hope by winning the last side 3-2, finishing the match 10-7 and taking a well deserved 1st place.

Spain had quite a interesting match versus Ireland aswell; where unlike UK, they were able to convert a 3-4 deficit on the first map to a 9-5 victory on the second map, claiming the 3rd place of Group C.

Norway&Denmark knew that there chances to reach the KnockOut stage were up to 0 due to their last results however their performance versus Yugoslavia 12-3, proves that they're still a growing force on the scene and that if they're still a bit too short to reach the Quarters of Finals, they have been, with their neighbours Sweden, demonstrating a lot of positive stuff.

On the other hand, the disappoiting and disappointed Nation of this group stage phase is defenitly Germany. They had quite an excelent start and unlike Russia which had quite a sloopy match vs Norway&Denmark, they were considered heavily favorite coming into this match. Maybe a bit too much since they got outclassed but Russia 10-5, in a match that few expected to go this way. Germany is taking the second place and will face BeNe, where they would have maybe prefered going against a faction such as France which is not considered part of the big four yet.
