There's already a group who makes a WW1 mod...Mount and Shovel!
They arent making much progress due to the size of there team,

Look at gallipoli, It looks really good! http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,242888.0.html

EDIT: lol at menelaos16, I didnt see your message, See have the same idea

It's the ladder of immersion.

First, it's a regiment - then you have Army groups. Then? You roleplay battles and trainings.

<Epic fight scene, man gets shot.>
"Sir! Bloody Frenchie got me! Tell me wife I'll be missin' her!"
"No, Johnson. . . tell her yourself! Just wait, we'll have that leg amputated in no time!"

Someone had said something about there being no market for WWI Games.

There are WWI Mods in the works for Men of War and Red Orchestra 2.

And there are many new Indie WWI Games popping up, The Trench: 1916, Verdun Online (Now no longer dead), Over The Top, and maybe 3-4 others that I remember. It's not as much of a Niche market as people seem to believe.

Oh, and The Great War mod for Napoleon Total War.

I personally want to go into WWI Archeology for a career, I must make sure it is not forgotten at all!

Personally I think the engine is perfect for automatic weapons, nade's and such. I was thinking about this myself on day one of playing NW, actually. Great idea and I hope the dev's do look into it, or at least some moders!

Well thats good to hear! Good luck!

I can definitely see a Victorian mod working, especially if it doesnt focus on one front only, but instead adds factions like the British, French, Prussians, the Zulu, maybe Chinese rebels, Russians and Ottomans, then a ****load of maps are created, everything from Africa to Crimea and Alcaise-Lorraine area. I know it wouldnt be historically all that accurate, but who cares, you get to fight the Zulu as Ottomans and the Prussians as Chinese.

I would really like a mod in this time Era!

And World War One was not just about trench warfare on the Western Front because it was a World War. There was alot of Maneuver warfare in other theatres, Guerrilla warfare in Africa and Arabia, Linebattle like fights in North Africa and at the start in Europe aswell as the last great horse charges and alot of uprisings.

This could be really cool. If the devs could do this then this would gain so many people and become a great company.  I dont care if it is a mod or a DLC do it please thanks.

I've seen thus far they are making a pretty cool looking WWI Mod called "Iron Europe". Their work thus far is incredibly detailed - I must say.

Yeah, I saw that.
it looks really good

Most of the military dead in World War 1 is from artillery, miles away and out of site.

A video game of World War 1 would be running across an endless mud field while getting bombarded from players 6 real time hours away with machine guns, mines, and barbedwire between you and your deathbringers.
