No, I downloaded the full version. My ping seems to be a little lower as well. The best I would get is in high 80s rather than high 90s before.

Well good news either way!  Most games netcode can barely handle 64 players.  At least we can do 90 without much issue

It was voted down on our forums.  The ability is there, but it was felt that it would give an unfair advantage to skilled players who already had NeoGK vs. new players. 

That is what I got out of the discussion anyway.
