troop tree Statistics

Huscarls do pretty well on the skills front, 6s and 7s in a bunch of useful abilities.  Interesting that Sword Sisters have higher weapon proficiencies than Merc Cavalry, but lack power strike.

truth is life said:
Are you sure the proficiencies for the Swadian archer units are correct? They use crossbows but have bow proficiencies?

Thank you, Crossbow and Sharpshooter should be under X-bow, not archery. Corrected now.

ty for the googledoc. if you can get me the str. agi. and overall hp stats, ill put it in my excel which has filters available

also, did you omit any stats? like athletics on cavalry, riding on infantry, horse archery on ground archers, etc.?

If they had athletics I put that in, but not riding if there is no horse in inventory.  also left out inventory management and other party or leader skills that have no bearing on the game. All Strength is 7, all Agility is 5, Strength for some of the archers is 15.

I really wonder what's the balancing idea behind the Mamlukes, they're obviously direly overpowered compared to every other unit in the game...

They should probably be scaled back a little, since they make fighting serranid a much more costly experience than it should be, all by themselves.

The logic behind mamlukes is that Sarranid infantry and archers are god-awful. Compare Sarranid "master" archers to vaegir marksmen, or their infantry to any other infantry in the game. They are sorely behind.

There is a bug which makes mamlukes spawn too often in NPC armies, but as far as Mamlukes themselves go: they aren't as OP as everyone thinks

I don't believe so.  Those were correct but I believe they have changed in patches.  I have not done any updates.

Interesting, I always found Kradus the the hard-ass of the 3 arena pros but his weapon proficiencies are the worst.

Do you have stats on regular, veteren and champion arena fighters?

The thing to remember is these are base stats they get stat and skill points etc up to there lvl amount its just the base stats tells the game where to spend them first, as such the fact that the junk skills are missing makes a lot look better then they really are. IE all Swadians troops have 6 skill points wasted in these junk skills Trade, Inventory management, Prisoner management and Leadership Nords on the other hand have got them there.

Alrighty... I went ahead and made a brand spanking new spreadsheet.

You can get it Here.

A few requests:

Someone who wants to check in game (1.125) or knows how to read this troops.txt thing, give me the following:
All of the weekly costs for troops

Stats for:
Hired Assassin (The guy that attacks you in the tavern)
Ordinary Townsperson & the other similar sounding one (The pair from the spy quest)
Merchant (The one for the silencing the merchant quest)

Edit: Further... the HP for troops... is it always static, or does is it partially randomly determined? If it's static, it might be better just to add an HP column.

I think that's about it...

Tell me if I have any of the tiers wrong, since it seems they re-worked it compared to what's on the strategy wiki. Thanks!

Charles de Luc, if you could go ahead and link GoogleDoc in your first two stat posts, that would be most appreciated. Furthermore, contact me with your Google account so I can add you as an editor of this document.

Here are the stats for the Kings and Pretenders as well as a few others

This is current with version 1.126, there have been no changes since first posted

Excellent...

Now I just need troop costs for everyone, if someone could retrieve that.

Alrighty...

What I'm getting at though, Charles... is I don't know how the game handles "Troop Creation". On top of these base stats, does it randomly assign other stats and skills (based on the amount of levels the troop has)? Or is there a formula that it follows? Essentially... can we or can we not know the hard stats for every troop or not?

Once that's known, I can better figure out how to organize the spreadsheet to properly display this.

Adding a notes column on the left-hand side, to do special notations on various troops, i.e. Quest Only and what not.

Thanks again!

On another note, I should be gone for most of today, but I can definitely work more on this tommorrow.

These are hard stats and I don't think it varies. Lords get XP points but I have not seen them level up.  The pretenders, on the other hand, can level up while they are in your party, but stop once they win and become king, just like your heroes when you make them a lord and give them a fief.

I did not include the non essential skills such as inventory management or engineering as they have no effect.

Ah, then we can go ahead and figure out the hard stats. In that case, AGI and STR are the only important Attributes for our purposes, since they don't level. So that'd be AGI and STR column, as well as a "HP" column, which will have an asterik explaining how it was calculated.

For the kings, I'll go ahead and put them into a "Nobility" section, where all the other nobles can be added (assuming the nobles have seperate statistics from each other) whenever you get the free time or will to post them.

In the future, we might also want to go ahead and look at the renown for the Nobility, and along with their CHA and leadership, we can determine how large of an army each lord and king can field (assuming, again, it isn't static). But that would be a bit further down the line :p. We'll call that stage 2, assuming either of us don't randomly lose interest or real life issues pop up.

Stage 3 would probably be mapping out equipment (or equipment chances, or equipment spending allotment, as I'm not sure hoe equipment is generated for troops) for everyone on a seperate sheet, which would be a much more time consuming task than the former.

Fun times.

Edit: It also occured to me that I have no idea how Hit Points are calculated. I understand that it has to do with STR and Ironflesh, and (maybe?) level... but beyond that, I cannot be sure, as I was just comparing my character, Bunduk, and Marnid, and there seems to be a complete difference. Any idea how that works? Something I'm missing? or is there a "base" HP stat?
