I like maximizing the income I get later on so I build dyeworks in most cities, tanneries in Jelkala and Veluca, and an ironworks in Suno. That gives 400-600 dinars per city...except Suno, I don't know if I'm always going to Suno at the wrong times or something but I can't get more than 250 denars from that place, from what the merchant says it's bad for dyeworks but doesn't seem good for anything.
