Issues with downloading the game.

Hey guys, Its been a while since I last posted on this forum, but recently over the past week or so I got back into M&B, and I went and played Brytenwalda for the first time in ages. And, conveniently, I found out not two days before the newest version came out that it was going to be released. So, this day, I go to download the new version, pretty excited for what was coming up.

I was unfamiliar with how I should go about it, since I was pretty rusty with patching anything manually, so I just deleted Brytenwalda out of the Modules folder. Now, this could be the problem, but I'm not sure.

Anyway, after I finished actually receiving the mod off of Nexus, I went ahead and started up the exe.

Then we have my problem.

I was given one error message after auto-running the file from my downloads, and then another shortly thereafter another one showed up, and I have no idea what to do. So, any help would be appreciated.




*I also have some screens of the error messages, in case you guys know what they are already.

I just downloaded and installed from Nexus without problems.
I don't know what it could be.

Same problem as OP. But after DL'in again from Nexus it worked!

Thanks for your input guys. I'll try re-downloading from nexus again, and then the mirror, if that doesn't work. Also, is the fancy-shmancy version still out? Because if I lost my opportunity to get the special edition, I will be very upset.

Nexus and the mirror link are giving me the same error messages after trying a second time. wat do?

We still have some older versions on www.moddb.com, incl. 1.396.

1.40 has been uploaded and is awaiting authorization (all files need to be authorized at moddb.com).

Alright, I suppose I could try that. Maybe getting an older version and then directly updating it will help? Not entirely sure, but worth a try. And thank you guys, you've been quite helpful thus far.

I've downloaded the older version (1.396), so now I'm downloading the new version for a 4th time.

Its working! As a general note, for people who have this issue aside from myself, install the older version of Brytenwalda, and then download and install 1.40, it saves a lot of time. Thank you guys for your help I hope this helps anyone else if they have the same problem.
