Using calvary archers in charges?

So, I typically do open field battles in one of two ways:
I either A) lure the enemy to rush my infantry/archers until they're close then ambush them from the side or back with cavalry or B) straight up charge them if they're mainly calvary. My question is, should I reassign cavalry mounted archers to the archer group? They seem to get obliterated by cavalry as they have bad armor and excel mainly in archery.

I prefer to set all the horse archers up in a seperate division (horse archers for example ) and tell them to either follow me or have them circle/stay close but not too close to the enemy troops. They can be really effective if you use the commands right.

Same. I have at least 1 separate group for horse archers (I usually call them Skirmishers) and I use them to set up at the enemy flank. When the enemy gets too close to them I pull them back towards my main force, which lures the enemy into my main archer and spear line, and messes up the enemy formation for easy decimation via my chargers or other heavy units.
