Is this malware?

Suddenly I'm getting notifications of software that needs to be updated

It's from Trusted Software Aps

If I click 'no' this pops up

"Free, fast download of Skype provided by File.org."

Everything about this screams malware!
Anyone else getting it?

(Did a full scan with Microsoft Security Essentials: nothing)

Yes it's definitely a virus which you have installed. Maybe with another legit program.

Try to uninstall that thing. See if it's something which is run on Windows Startup from msconfig. If nothing works, try a proper adware search program to uninstall that thing.

Pretty much the only tool I've ever needed to get rid of malware etc.

Don't. Download and use the latest version.
