Played (well, cheat-blitzed) through a Claimant quest line, and everything seemed to work correctly! Game is amazing, from what I've seen.

That how it was for real, the Oda clan was a huge importer and exporter of all types of guns, while the first Teppo's and matchlock rifles were first seen in Kyushu from the Spaniards and Portuguese, they spread like wild fire, and once the Japanese swordsmiths figured out how to forge them, Japan was churning out their own line of Teppo and the Oda clan was probably the largest manufacturer, that's why if browse online to find a Teppo it wont just say "Japanese Gun, Japanese Teppo or Japanese Musket" because they were made in specific provinces or held a specific clan title like "Owari Japanese Teppo" or "Kyushu Tanegashima" or "Saika Matchlock" (Saika btw was Japanese special forces group of Samurai that were employed to eliminate Oda Nobunaga but failed, they keen marksmen and experts at all things Teppo, they were the ones the Oda got the gun tricks from). As a matter a fact, for long while Japan actually had more Guns than Europe in the 1500's and part of the 1600's.   
 
I noticed when I was hunting Kinai rebels that their parties don't "stack" anymore. Was this done on purpose? In 2.1a, when I would attack a ronin party, nearby ronin parties would join in on their side. Now I have to go through them one by one, really time consuming >_<

i THINK the Woku pirates stack; it might just be the microfactions that don't.
 
I take that back, whenever I say something doesn't happen it happens or vice versa... It was probably because I was sailing that they didn't stack.
 
Interesting. I find it curious how the samurai class embraced guns so readily, even though their existence allowed mere peasant warriors to kill even the toughest, roughest, and most ball-breakingly glorious samurai warriors with a single lucky shot.

After all, it'd only be proper that samurai were able to kill other samurai, right?

Anyway, I've gone through quite a large amount of gameplay, and even snapped quite a few pictures, but I haven't been able to bring myself to post another chapter of the playthrough. I guess I'm lazy, I suppose.

After defeating the Kaga Ikki monks once and for all in Kanazawa, it was peacetime once again.
With no wars yet left to fight at this period of time, Sho Tetsurou had two goals in mind, to be accomplished before returning to the fields of battle.

1: Train an army - larger and stronger than ever before. The 150,000 mon sitting in his treasury told him that this was possible, but he just needed some time. Maybe a week or two?
2: Stabilise his realm - many of the lords of the Sho Clan (especially the less warlike ones) were beginning to lose patience with Tetsurou's constant campaigning. Perhaps it was time for a realm-wide feast?

Riding south-east to the river between Kiyosu and Gifu Castle, the Oni in Red stopped to chat with an Oda lord, Lord Wada.
"Your eminence, if you are passing anywhere near Gifu... I would be grateful if you could help me hunt down a particular fugitive that has escaped there after killing several citizens and one of my retainers. If you could spare a couple of your men..."
"Not to worry, Wada. I despise murderers with a furious passion."
Turning to the Oda Clan lord, he continued. "I will deal with the scum personally."
"... My lord?"

A slight smirk entered Tetsurou's face.
He hadn't gone bounty hunting in some time!

As the five grandly garbed warriors rode into the humble village of Gifu, Yeosong, garbed in the green haori of a general, looked around and smiled.
"This brings back old memories doesn't it, Tetsurou-dono? It feels like a lifetime since we were running such straightforward errands. I almost miss those days..."
The Oni in Red gazed at his companion for a while, then grinned. "It's true. It's a reminder of simpler times, truly. Those were days of adventure."

Indeed, how long HAD it been since they'd gone on a good old fashioned manhunt? By anyone's guess - too damn long!
Probably only a year, really, but my my, had time flown quickly!

Searching around Gifu, it didn't take the party very long to locate the fugitive...

The Oni in Red looked down upon the man before him, and asked a single question.
"Are you Tonosuke the Butcher? If you are, you must accompany us immediately."
He nervously darted his eyes around.
"I don't know who you're talking about sir. I've lived in this village all my life."
Yeosong grinned. The scum always tried this. "How about we confirm this story with your neighbours, if you're so inclined?"

The man's expression changed. And then he spoke again:

The Oni in Red sighed, and a grim and dark cloudiness appeared in his eyes. "Then it is regretful, but I am afraid you must die."
Futilely, the murderer tried to charge Tetsurou... but with a heave and a great swing, the fugitive's head was cleft off in a single bloody blow.
"I truly do wonder why they never simply surrender..."
Taking the man's head and placing it in a bag, the Oni in Red and his companions rode off into the hills.

After returning the fugitive's head to a grateful Lord Wada, Tetsurou began the steady work of recruiting new men into his army and giving them the training necessary to be great warriors.
And of course, practical lessons are the best ones of all.
Who better to use as completely expendable training materials than the Ronin scum wandering around the countryside?

They were easy opponents of course... but his recruits had to start somewhere.

After killing off half a dozen parties, it was time to ride north, and set himself to another task - the management of his realm.

Damn, you've come a long way on this thing.  3.0 shows some major improvements.  You even fixed my little pet peeve where the animations for the katana didn't match up with the hands.  I've noticed so many of the little and big improvements, great job.  Only "bug" I've seen so far is that sometimes the shadows seem to have a really blue tint to them and that's about it for now.  I plan to test this much more thoroughly.  Keep up the amazing work.

Dude, you might want to spoiler your log, like I did.  :wink:
 
The women (and possibly some men) in the fight at the end of the opening quest don't pack weapons and as a result casualities are WAY higher than they would be in native or such, plus it's pretty weird when they are deliberately plotting to ambush and come unarmed.

This bug has been in since 2.0 come to think of it.
 
Actually that's normal. They're not part of the ambush plot. Just regular civilians. It's like that in Native and other mods too, but it might be more obvious here because of the layout in the cities.

Opening Mission has Monks that are sometimes literally in the same spot as ashigaru.

Sometimes the contestants do not use the bow and just run up with their wakizashi.

The Oni in Red then travelled north-east, back to his capital city of Kofu.

In the wake of his constant campaigning and highly expansionist (read: conquering everybody that isn't the Sho Clan) policies as of late, the lords of the realm were becoming disgruntled.

But, he had a plan.

In order to cheer up both his lords and the people of Kofu, Sho Tetsurou held a week-long grand feast, and a Grand Tournament to go with it.

Snow laid deep tracks in the ground, as a roaring crowd cheered upon the contestants from overhead.

The Grand Tournament, hosted by Great Lord Sho Tetsurou himself, brought the finest warriors from all over Japan to compete for fame, glory, and a hell of a lot of silver.
The host himself - the most feared man in the entirety of Japan, and the ruler of the most powerful clan in the realm - would be participating personally in the festivities.

Indeed, for Tetsurou, it was an opportunity to showcase his martial skill - and by betting on himself, he aimed to completely pay for the feast and the Tournament in it's entirety by utterly crushing his opponents.
If he could win this event, it would be a masterstroke of diplomacy, civil leadership, and martial skill all in one!
(If not... this was going to be a rather expensive week!)

The Oni in Red tensed slightly and prepared himself for combat.

The announcer's voice then boomed from overhead.
"Let the Grand Tournament..."


"BEGIN!!!"

Two teams of eight dashed across the snow, armed with wooden swords, bows, and a hunger for victory!

Amidst the cheers of countless spectators, Sho Tetsurou lunged forward and mercilessly floored his opponents one by one.
Mercy did not factor into his calculations. Thankfully, he was using a wooden sword - but even a bokken can be an absurdly dangerous weapon in the right hands.

One last opponent gave him some trouble, defending against every attack he made. Alas, defense is not enough to WIN a battle of arms.
You have to attack eventually... and when you do, that is when you are vulnerable.

The Demon of the Sho stepped in to the opponent's range in an aggressive motion, hoping to receive a counterattack.
True to form, the opponent struck out upon perceiving Tetsurou entering his range.
Tetsurou grinned... That fool...

In a quick sweeping motion, Tetsurou caught his opponent's blade with pinpoint precision as he attempted to attack from overhead, deflecting it, then in a powerful motion, slammed his own wooden Nodachi into the opponent's collarbone with full force!

The other participant then slumped to the floor, unconscious and not moving...

Was he okay? The Oni in Red took a cursory look at his fallen opponent.

The physicians rushed over to check to see if the guy was dead or not.

It would be seriously bad publicity if he killed somebody in a friendly competition!

One of the physicians nervously checked the man for life signs...
"He's got a pulse... HEY, EVERYONE, HE'S ALIVE!"

HURRAH! As the round reached it's conclusion (and his unconscious opponent was hauled off the field), Tetsurou's team was pronounced victorious!

Back in the central palace of Kofu, Tetsurou and his wife Harumi played the role as host and hostess for their guests.

Lords Buei, Ujiie, Toki, Yuki, Wada, and Shimura arrived in Kofu for the celebrations, and shared cups of sake with their host.
That was six out of seventeen lords in total. All things considered, it was fairly good attendance for the first day.

"Thank you graciously for hosting this feast today" Yuki raised his cup, "and may you be blessed with good fortune, my lord!"
"KANPAI!" the hall echoed.

Relaxed and sitting in a sprawl, Buei called over to his host. "Sho-sama! Did you find out what happened to that poor bastard you knocked out this afternoon?"
In a moment of abject confusion, Tetsurou scratched his head. "Oh, him?" he remembered. "He's fine. I had Enrique look at him. It'll take a month or two for his collarbone to heal, but otherwise no real harm done."
"That nanban doctor of yours knows what he's doing I suppose." shrugged Lord Shimura. "Still, I humbly beg you to act with more caution my lord. Brash actions may have unintended consequences..."

A dark cloud seemed to hang between Tetsurou and Shimura. Nobody said it, but everybody knew Shimura was one of the vassals highly displeased with their leader constantly declaring war on neighbouring states.

"Rest assured Shimura-san," he evenly replied, "I act with nothing less than absolute premeditation at all times."
"Is that so? So when you beat the life out of the poor sod just now, that was what you had planned to do all along, my lord?" Shimura sarcastically questioned.

"He was my opponent. To hold back would be both disrespectful to him as a warrior and also folly from the perspective of gaining victory." Tetsurou gazed at his slightly out-of-line vassal. "My only goal was to win."
"So you desire victory even along with the potential cost of the lives of anyone who stands in your way?" asked Shimura.
"If that is what it takes, then absolutely. I do not take joy in defeating my enemies, but if that is what must be done..."

Tetsurou continued "then I shall not hesitate to strike them down with my own hands."

Silence lingered for a time in the hall, as Tetsurou and Shimura continued to eye each other.
Shimura then shook his head. "I apologise for my rudeness my lord. The hour grows late... I will beg my leave"

He bowed, then left. He did not return.

The celebrations that night were still spirited, but a slight awkwardness replaced the cheer from before.

Ok another bug i think. Just completed a quest for Great Lord Mori to train 5 Mori Hatamoto Guard. Handed the quest in for no reward at all. No reputation money or renown. I am pretty sure that in native you got some of each. Will test again if i can find another lord offering a similar quest, obviously not game breaking but annoying as they are top tier units.
