Announcement

Welcome to the official announcement post of the Fifth Deluge League (Liga V The Deluge)!

We are pleased to return to this old league after a long wait, with an ever so strong and prospering Deluge community.

The official site of the Fifth Deluge League is a Discord server, which we deem is a better form of maintaining communication and coherence than an online forum. Applicants are thus kindly required to join the League Discord server: https://discord.gg/PYHzQcB

Application Rules

Any clan/regiment/team from The Deluge and all other Mount&Blade games and mods may apply. If an individual player wants to join the Fifth Deluge League, they have to apply to a clan and join with them.

The APPLICATION FORM must contain the following: (you can copy this and comment the application underneath):

  • The team’s official name and tag:
  • Leaders’ name and their Steam contacts:
  • *Number of expected active members:
  • **Full list of expected active members WITH THEIR GAME ID’s (this can be edited later, but it is necessary in order to avoid people playing for multiple teams):
  • Image of the team’s banner:

*The number of players a team has to bring for a league match needs to be AT LEAST 8 PEOPLE. If only 7 players are present in a team, they are allowed to play 7 VS 8. If 6 or less players are present in a team, the other team gets a walkover.

**Game IDs can be accessed by joining a server and viewing the server logs. It would be really nice if the applicant clans could do this before the league, but if that will not happen, then we will use the server logs from the matches to check IDs. Any player who is caught playing for two different clans with the same ID will be banned from the league immediately.

The deadline for applications is May 31st, Midnight. The league officially starts its first week on June 1st.

Match Rules

A full match consists of 20 rounds. 10 rounds are played per map, and 5 rounds are played per spawn point. After 5 rounds, teams switch BOTH SPAWN AND FACTION.

Each team is entitled to pick a map with their own faction, and to pick a faction for the enemy’s map. Each team is also entitled to ban ONE map which they do not wish to play on during the match. Note that there cannot be two of the same factions on a map (So for example if Team 1 picks ‘Ruins’ with Muscovy, Team 2 picks another faction. If Team 1 bans ‘Downtown’, then Team 2 is not allowed to play that map on the match).

One round consists of 5 minutes, and the Master of the Field Flags will spawn at 3:30 (1 and a half minutes after the match has started). You win a round by capturing these flags, or by wiping out the enemy team entirely.

Matches with their set map and factions must be PRE-ANNOUNCED IN A SEPARATE POST on Discord at least 24 hours before the match starts. Every team will play one match per week, so they should have plenty of time to negotiate. This is necessary so that both teams can prepare and reserve a *server for the match.

Global chat (T-chat) is NOT allowed during the match, and ANY SORT OF PROVOCATIVE OR INSULTING BEHAVIOUR (such as flaming, raging, griefing, sending insults/threats, corpse kicking and t-bagging and so on) IS STRICTLY FORBIDDEN. At the beginning of the match, 2 speakers are selected from each team, and only they are allowed to write in the global chat during the match.

If a player breaks the rules about T-chat and match behaviour, they will receive a warning, and 3 warnings results in a permanent kick from a match (meaning that this player cannot rejoin the match anymore). 6 warnings will result in a permanent ban from the league. The same precedent applies to players who glitch or troll during a match.

Each team is entitled to ask for a reset of the map during the first round of a spawn, in case they calculated the troop limits wrong, or in case a player does not spawn etc.

Clan leaders and **referees are required to take a screenshot at the end of every spawn and upload them into the match post (the same as the one that they have pre-announced), so that we can determine the official score of the match. If there are no screenshots or video footage of a match, both teams can ask for a rematch later on. Screenshots should be posted in a separate thread made for match results.

*The League might have an official server, but otherwise the teams that participate in the League will be required to hand over their servers for League matches. Note that any clan who applies to the League automatically consents to this rule.

**If an individual player would like to apply for the position of a referee, that can be done by personally consulting one of the league organizers in direct messages. A full list of referees will be announced later. The job of a referee is to spectate and oversee the match, and to take screenshots at the end of every spawn. Referees will get administrator access to every server pertaining to the league. Referees are allowed to spectate during a match and administer the match itself, and they may join a team to check for troop classes and observe individual players after the round time hits 4:00.

Troop Rules

Cavalry limit for the entire team is 25%. This means that ONE IN EVERY 4 PLAYERS is allowed to take a *mounted troop (So for example for 12 players, you can have 3 mounted troops maximum, and the same goes for 15 players).

Each team is only allowed to take ONE member in the following troop classes: Officer, Standard Bearer, Engineer (So for example if a team plays with 2 officers, the enemy team automatically wins the round, unless a reset is asked for). The rest of the troop limits are determined by the usual faction standards and number of players.

Standard Bearers are only allowed to take the item Squad Flag as their banner (the one which costs 500 gold for all factions except the Crimean Khanate), and strictly NOT the faction banner.

Exceeding troop limits results in an automatic round win for the enemy team, unless the team notices it and asks for a reset of the round.

Both teams must have the EXACT SAME NUMBER OF PLAYERS during a match. This means that a team is not allowed to have more players than the other team. IF A PLAYER DISCONNECTS from a match round before the round time hits 4:20, the other team is obliged to balance the teams by removing a player immediately. If the round time is less than 4:20 when the disconnecting occurs, the balancing can be done in the next round.

*Mounted Troop = Any troop that actually takes a horse into combat (not necessarily a cavalry troop, for example a hussar without a horse does NOT count as a mounted troop).

Score Rules

Each team will play against all the other teams in the league, having one match every week. The total amount of weeks that the league will last for is determined by the number of teams that apply.

After a match, points will be given out to the teams based on the following stats:

  • Round win = 1 point
  • Match win = 10 points
  • Match draw = 5 points for each team
We will also try to gather stats of individual players to determine who is the best player of the league (based on the screenshots). This is done by calculating that person’s overall kill and death count and contrasting it to other people. Both the player with most kills and the player with the best K/D ratio will be determined.

There are also score PENALTIES for breaking rules:

  • Player found multi-teaming (playing for two teams) = -10 points for both teams
  • Player kicked from match due to breaking rules = -5 points for a team
  • Player banned from the league due to breaking rules = -10 points for a team

Administrative Rules

The server that a given league match will be played on needs to be set up at least 30 minutes before the match starts. The following settings need to be kept consistent:

  • The gold bonuses are:
  • Starting gold: 170% (1700 gold)

Note that any admin or referee can spawn the Master of the Field Flags by pressing F9 and typing “deathmode” into the control panel. If a referee is present, it is their job to do this automatically. If a referee is not present, one of the team leaders or server admins will do so, the teams will agree to this before the match.

Map Rules

A team may only pick a map which works in battle mode, with the exception of all ‘Warfare’ maps and some normal battle maps which were deemed too unbalanced to play in competitive matches.

This still leaves the following 26 maps that a team can choose from:

  • Ruins
  • Field by the River
  • Lake
  • Backstreets of Cracow
  • Valley
  • Inn
  • Port
  • Forest Ruins
  • ‘Nostalgia’ Town
  • ‘Clearwater’ Inn
  • Old Cemetery
  • Fields of Gold
  • Old Mine
  • Swamps
  • Ruined Castle
  • Cossacks’ Village
  • Coastal Village
  • Southern Steppes
  • Psel River
  • Vistula Roots
  • Old Town
  • House on the Marsh
  • Abbey
  • Downtown
  • Barefield
  • Vineyard

Some of the current battle maps may be edited and revised for the League. These maps will be given access to for everyone in a separate thread.

We hope that many applications will be submitted. We shall see you in the League!
