Yeah,i also think that MP should be released first,and later SP of it.Also i think there would be clans made,like regiments in Mount and Musket Battalion.

Look at Grim Age for example. They are releasing multiple sub mods before releasing the actual mod. Because it would take to long and people would have to wait too long. Same with the Gaza campaing of EBII.

And seeing the amount of work already done I gues it definately not impossible to make a MP submod.
