    Vassal Script Error

I'm having this same issue.  Neither of the solutions presented here (Re-gather lords then dismiss or resign marshalship) fixed it.

    Here's what I did:

    Called all lords together

Noticed King Graveth was around and figured he'd slow us down

Walked to him, told him he didn't need to be here for the campaign, got script error

Every 5 seconds or so on the map, get the script error (4 of 'em most of the time).  Most reliable is at midnight but I assume it's an every-x-hours AI script check.

Every time I ask King Graveth what he's doing, I get the script error.

Hopefully this info will help diagnose the issue.  Thanks!

The Eagle & The Radiant Cross Chapter Two - Feedback & Suggestions

I've come out of lurker hell just to join in the praise for D'Sparil.

This and The Last Days are the only Mount & Blade mods that I've enjoyed enough to stick with.  Given TLD's (justified) lack of updates since .808, this is the only non-native M&B I've played in at least a year - hundreds of hours of fun, all thanks to this wonderful free mod.

D'Sparil, I hope you continue enjoying (and referencing) awesome games, conquering for the Lion Throne, and of course partaking of beer - may it never cause you a hangover!

Are there more sources that inspired you?

I've picked up on Suikoden II (L'Renouille among others), Der Langrisser (Imelda and previously Eggbert) other than those.  I'm sure there are dozens of other awesome games I'm missing

    Skills and troop trees

The improvement in accuracy isn't noticeable for awhile, because the more damage a gun does, the less base accuracy it has (regardless of its base accuracy stat - see the Elephant Gun, for example).

In the beginning of the game you're going to be using a pistol, so if you're upping your skills as you upgrade your weapon, you probably won't see much positive change in accuracy.

    Skills and troop trees

There is no gun skill ("Power Shot"?), per se - guns, like crossbows, have only a weapon proficiency.

The only skill that might help you fire a gun is Horse Archery, but that's only if you're riding a horse.  Think of it not as a restriction ("Aww, my guns can't be more overpowered than they already are") but as an opportunity ("This means I can pump all my points into Charisma and Leadership so I can have more guns!!").

Of course, despite using guns you'll still be at risk from enemy fire, so you'll still want to put some points into iron flesh or at least strength to use some decent armor, etc.

    Unique Weaponry?

I'm not sure what triggers unique drops.  I think just large battles if you win.

I just got my first ever off of a fight between around 170 Laurians and 400 combined Imperial/Lion Throne forces (I was on the 400 side).  I had never gotten them in the previous versions of EARC (pre 1.0).

Unfortunately the Elephant gun is really inaccurate, so I may give it to one of my heroes and use a standard Piedmont rifle myself.

    Bug Reports.

I seem to keep getting the Khergit-style music in the Imperial State lands.

Granted, with the new locale-based music system I'm not sure you can really do anything about that... but I thought I'd throw it out here.

My sentiments exactly.  Thanks for releasing the new version, D'Sparil!  I've been having a blast.  I'm looking forward to seeing how much more you flesh out the various kingdoms in further versions

Awesome!  I've been looking forward to this since 1.001 came out.

Curse you and your making this happen as the gaming holiday season's gearing up, though

    couple of questions.

    2. if you get two of the same wound on the 'default' setting, does it become permanent. this could be bad for me as i have lots of wounds from fighting gun toting bandits, thier pistols seem to wound me everytime they hit me on normal damage.
Yes.  This was why I turned down the wound frequency when I played.  Two broken legs does not a fun game make.
    trasder said:
    3. are there any negatives associated with having lots of NPC's in your party? i know that in EG:II the number of NPC's decreases loot amount.
Much, much lower morale.  Each hero counts as three normal troops for morale calculation purposes.  I believe number of NPCs decreases loot amount as well, but I remember hearing that's just a carry-over from Native.
    trasder said:
    4. do the NPC's require a wage? sometimes when i have nothing but NPC's in my party i get charged for around 150 denars each week (i have 6 NPC's)
Yes, they cost their level per month.  You should be able to see that in the party menu.
Note also that having troops garrisoned will cost you money, though not as much as having them "active".
    trasder said:
    5. is there any way to get the gun that the State Cannoneers have? and does firearm proficiency increase thier accuracy, as i find it hard to hit people at a decent range due to the low accuracy of most of the guns?
You can pick a dropped one up in battle (great fun), but you can't get one of your own to my knowledge.  You can get some pretty nice unique guns from fighting tough battles, though.

Just wanted to chime in to say I'm really glad you're picking this up again.

M&B 1.003 has really impressed me so far, and I'm sure TEARC can add a heck of a lot once the module system comes out

    The font size is fine.

M&B's font size relative to the screen is much larger if you're running at a lower resolution.  Those who think it's fine may be playing it at a higher resolution; those who think it's too big may be playing at a lower one.  I'd wager it's constant size, but its appearance varies depending on your screen's resolution.

Of course, changing your resolution seems like an overkill solution for decreasing a font size... I've never had any problems with it myself.

What do you want in Next Version? (0.960)

You could change the size

    Bug Reports.

An update on my text bug - it doesn't happen quite as often anymore.  I wonder if it might be caused by a (somehow borked) message on the world map?  If I get it to happen again I could always upload my savegame somewhere.

Could a particularly long string (i.e. Prince Miklotov of Zenislev of Dual Monarchy has been captured by Emperor Nikephoros II Theikos of Ellis Empire, for example) cause anything like this?
  16. Niahak

    Bug Reports.

I don't know if this is linked to TEARC for sure, but the in-game messages (i.e. "the prosperity of village Y has changed from A to B") are sometimes no longer showing up for me.  I tried starting a new game and there was no such issue, so it is at least linked to my savegame.

Oddly, this happens until I get into a battle and deal or take damage.  In battle, when I give orders, the messages don't show up until this point.  This problem seems intermittent - sometimes it happens, sometimes it goes away for several minutes.

I get the impression the missed messages are showing up below the screen, because when I do damage and the messages are fixed for the duration of the battle, that first message scrolls up from the very bottom of the screen (rather than popping out of the aether just below where it ends up).

    Character Pictures.

I remember one of the Warhammer games having the mercenary company "Grudgebringers"... Pretty cool mercenaries, all told.  If only the game hadn't been stupidly difficult.

I noticed some such unique groups have named captains, although they are a bit fragile.  I saw that the Deathbringers lost their captain just a few days in.

    Feedback & Suggestions

I think I remember D'Sparil mentioning the lag on the cannoneers has been fixed in the dev version.

If the next version still has the morale penalty for foreign troops, could it be included in the Morale report?  That's one of the big things that led to my confusion earlier...

Really looking forward to the next release!
  19. Niahak

    Bug Reports.

Not really a report, but an update on an earlier one.

My morale issue earlier was probably caused by the "enemy troops" penalty.  My confusion was in the "enemy" part - I had more than a few Nords with me, and didn't think of them as enemies since we were both at war with the same faction.

The penalty on having them is really big, though... I wasn't able to figure out how bad, but with around 10 troops I had completely killed my leadership and food bonuses so my party was floating on "recent events" alone.

    i) Most of the Imperial State armies seemed to become trapped behind the river near the edge of the map.

I had this happen with gun-toting bandits: half the time, if I get captured by the GTBs near that river, they "leap" over (as they drag me around) and I get stuck.  There must be some hidden way near Mourne.  Sometimes I see GTB parties stuck over there on their own, too.

I have a recurring bug, if when I'm escorting a caravan somewhere and it gets attacked along the way (and this is likely since all bandit parties are so fast and large) and I loose it, my game crashes.

I have had the lost-escorted-caravan issue happen to me in Bandit King, so I know it's not isolated to this mod.  I saved right before it happened, so that save was essentially a free crash-to-desktop.
