Since there would be economy involved,happiness should be a factor as to how many peasant you could recruit and options with an adviser who tells you what is happening and what needs to be built(example,houses,barrack,stockpile.....).You would need a system which you need to somehow make that can be use within the map like the food system and variety to increase happiness,lords have special abitlities like summoning werewolves and buildings that raise or lower happiness like a visitng circus or a dungeon.
